I just got TF2 and when it starts up it shows the valve logo, then the source logo... then it goes to a black screen and an hourglass appears. It then shuts down and go's back to steam. WTF, can someone explain? I have windows XP and it's an older computer... but it does run. I just don't know why it fades to black then shuts down.

Someone please help...

Go here: Can You Run It?

See if TF2 will run.

It sounds like RAM may be low so the system is killing the process using the most memory. I could be wrong though.

Agree on the RAM problem. If not, my other guess would be video memory...

You can try lowering the resolution and it may run...
