View Full Version : Router Password
Okay, so I had been for DAYS trying to get my router to forward the Minecraft port (25565). So finally I figured out how, which was more complicated than you probably think. But now, when I try to allow the port, is asks me for the Router password. Obviously, I tried Admin, and Administrator. Those should have been the default. So, I reset the router, (button on the back) I lost everything, TV, Internet, all of it. But the password still seems to be hard to find.
As a hint it says "The password is on the label" there is two long codes on the side of my router, tried them both, several and several of times, but no luck.
So here I am asking you for advice.

Did you use 'admin' with a Capital A? If you did, try it lower case.
Also try 'password' - sometimes that's the pw.
@W1CKED It is a 2Wire, 3800 HGV - B
@Linux, didn't try password, but I did try it with and without a capital A.

On my router its an alphanumeric password known as the Wireless Key, on the router there may be another sticker with it on or it may be labelled WEP or WPA key.

Or, if you've yet to actually put a setting on the router, it may be blank.
If you connect to the router using a password (say you type in kites55 every time you connect with a laptop, phone, DS, console, etc,) try using that one.
I've tried blank, and it is the only label on there.
I don't have anything wireless in my house. :/ All ethernets.

I think someone may have locked up your router, man. Is there a reset setting on it? An external button? Or a setting you can press on the main page?

Try admin and Password1 (with a capital P).
No username required.
And the button was external, no option on the pages as far as I could tell. :/

Contact the manufacturer, it might be some weird password, or even if it's not that, they might be able to help you fully reset everything.
