For the past year or so, all profiles in vBulletin have the ability to create albums and upload images. Our GF Image Host was introduced long before that feature was enabled by default in vB. Since the feature came out, I have always encouraged our members to upload to their profile albums because it's easier to manage.

The GF Image Host is still active and you will still be able to view your old images, get the link to share, delete images, etc. But you will no longer be able to upload images.

Slowly the whole plugin will be removed because it's unnecessary. We are hosting a few thousand images there, the images themselves will not be removed (for now). So if you are linking to them, they will still show.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to post in this thread.

But why?
I find the Image Host easier to manage the the photo album...

The album is very easy. And support for that modification by its creator was discontinued because of the profile albums that came out with vBulletin. So if we upgrade to a newer version of our forum, the image host won't work at all. So I'd prefer to deactivate it proactively and allow everyone to get used to using their albums rather than spring it on everybody at the last minute.
