View Full Version : Warrior, Wizard, or Archer?
This isn't for any specific game, but when you start a med-evil (Misspelled..?) RPG, You can usually start with these 3 main classes, (Not including like rogue, monk, all the sub classes) Which one is usually your favorite?
I would have to say Archery. I love the speedy, lightweight characters in RPGs.

I usually pick the Warrior class, Mainly because it's basic ( In terms of using weapons, you swing your sword to kill, instead of something like magic where you have to cast spells and gather stuff to cast spells ).
And usually the most thought out ( In terms of possible special skills and having the most unlockable things ). It's right there from the beginning. Plus it allows you fully be involved in the game, right there killing the monsters or whatever you're killing, rather then sitting out from the fight contributing from a distance.

Thats a hard one :O I normally always go for wizards just cause I love the spells and stuff..... but more recently Ive been on a melee kick so maybe the warrior. Def end up trying them all eventually though :P

Playing as Archer in Dragon Nest is awesome, love it. Hehe :)
But I did play as mage in World of Warcraft, the spell casting can be fun but now I still prefer using ranger classes. :)

In most rpg games I start with a archer class, mostly because I prefer ranged stealthy combat.

Archer for me. I like to be a good distance away to be able to kill and whatnot. But I do like to switch it up sometimes. If anything the next class I pick would be warrior.

I almost always (if the option is there) pick the magic/melee hybrid, but if there are no hybrids then always wizard.

Pretty much always roll a mage-type character, sometimes a warrior mage. I do like archers and rogues though, and warriors bore me to death :P

Depends. On Dungeon Fighter I am a Slayer (warrior) with an Asura sub class ( a tank mage) so I am a warroir of magic. I always like the fastest or slow hard hitters. But on demon souls and Dark Souls (which i havent got but already plan my class) I start with a Knoght because the have great armor but also good faith for casting Magic later on

I used to go warrior mainly, but I'd try everyone out. But lately I've been always going for the spellcaster/magic users. I like dealing ALOT of damage.

I'm a kind of mix. Like Half Rouge and half Mage. But seeing as you excluded the Rouge. I guess I ill have to say Mage :D I Like being able to sneak attack my enemies from a distance with a debuff or blast of some sort. then Blast the hell out of them, By the time they get to me their either dead or close to it. Leaving me with minimal to no damage and allows me to continue straight away with having to heal for a certain amount of time

Archer fer shurrrrrrrrre. Ever since Guild Wars I've loved being an archer and just sneaking around and getting ready for the attack.
Secondary would be warrior, cutting things up into little pieces is fun too (:
Mage is third but also pretty fun. Fireballs all the way!

I like the Wizard/Mage class because of all the useful spells. Like in many games if you're hurt and you're a wizard there are healing spells that make you heal faster. Plus I like to frustrate my opponents by crippling their character's stats >:D :D

I normally start of as some kind of caster, they're more fun to play then melee IMO.
