So in my failings, I thought tomorrow was Halloween and figured to do a marathon for scary related movies. But it's not as I found out, but I intend on continuing either way. So midnight tonight to midnight tomorrow i'm going to see how many movies I can watch that I never seen before :)

This is going to be my first watch in a lil bit

Dead of Winter (USA title) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0495042/combined)

My goal is at least 5 but hope to crush that XD

Movie was blah, couple snort a line of meth and were slipped lsd into a drink and their mind freaks out, but they really dont do a good job of freaking, it was mostly roaming in the woods.

#2 is going to be,

Killer Klowns from Outer Space (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095444/combined)

Do you already have a set list of horror movies you want to watch? Im doing the same thing actually. Recording or DLing all sortsa horror movies I havent seen yet. Figure it's a good time, especially since there's a ton on TV right now.... so far Ive found that Red State was awesome. And was thoroughly disappointed with Survival of the Dead and The Crazies.

Just stuff off of Netflix, so lots of choices :), unless i get a urge to watch something specific . Yeah i liked Red State as well :). And yeah Survival of the Dead was sorely disappointing. Didn't feel like Romero at all. Also which The Crazies, original or the one made recently. I'm also thinking of extending this to the end of October, should be fun :)

i do this every year as well. I love horror films and the bad acting that comes along with them

Mizel
10-24-2011, 12:39 PM
Oh nice! I miss netflix lol.... I find it amusing that Romero is always extrememly hit or miss.... some of his stuff is amazing and some is just, blah. You should extend it to the end of October! :) If you come across any awesome skurry movies to recommend, lemme know :D 2 of my favs you should check out if you happen to come come across them are April Fool's Day (old school, but awesomeeee twist ending) and Pieces ( also old school and overall, kind of a crappy movie - and not in the good way hah- but the first 10 mins of the movie totallyyyy make it worth it ;))

Damn Killer Klowns made some bank, 2 million budget. 234.6 million box office return. This is movie was pretty decent, funny b movie action.

Sick Nurses (USA title) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1058008/combined)

Up next, my first foreign horror of this marathon. a thai film at that, im not sure i have ever even seen a thai movie XD

--
Sick Nurses was ok at best, but had some interesting gore scenes to note such as when her jaw was off and the fetus flew out into her mouth :P

#4 =

Paranormal Activity 2 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1536044/combined)

#2 is going to be,

Killer Klowns from Outer Space (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095444/combined)

Such an awful movie lol. Me and my friend were looking for B scary movies on netflix and we came across this. It was so awful, we couldn't manage to watch it all.

So, Paranormal Activity 2 was pretty lame. Didn't really care for the first but I at least was partially engaged in the movie. I couldn't care less about the characters or what was going on in this one. I was rooting for violent bloody death by mid-point lol.

#5 time,

Last of the Living
(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1351177/combined)

Thought it was pretty bleh. Wasn't funny at all.

#6 time,

Hybrid (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0874917/combined)

Its a syfy movie XD.

I thought this movie would be interesting, it was not and was one of the worst things ive ever seen

#7 time,

Them! (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047573/combined)

Going old school

#2 on movies i liked during this marathon, It probably would of had a better effect on me back on the day but its desired effect is all but lost in todays special effects. It's cool though to go back and see old school special effects, this particular film was nominated by the academy awards for best specials effects in 1954

#8 time ,

Lost Boys: The Tribe (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1031254/combined)

I agree with Paranormal activity 2, I re watched them all before I watched the 3rd one in theaters. 2 was definitely the worst of the 3. Paranormally activity 3 was amazing though, best of the 3 by far.

I remember watching them last year, I thought it was really good. Old horror movies with mutated animals and bugs are always a great watch.

So, Lost Boys 2 was quite average to say the least, borderline bad. I guess that's what happens when you make a new one so many years after the first.

#9,

The Human Centipede (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1467304/combined)

Mizel
10-26-2011, 11:35 AM
Lol I agree, I was disappointed.... you're in for a treat with The Human Centipede though, that's for sure ;)

thedeparted

The Human Centipede is rather plotless but the twisted theme is enough for me to think its at least decent.

#10 shall be,

Lost Boys The Thirst (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1400526/combined)

Trunks
10-26-2011, 02:42 PM
I hear that the Human Centipede 2 is supposed to be 12 people instead of 3 and way more disgusting.

Mizel
10-26-2011, 03:51 PM
It was so grotesque and ridiculous that I loved it :p Man, that dude couldnt even keep 3 people alive... he should find a new hobby >_<

I quite like Lost Boys: The Thirst, cant believe it got a 0% RT. I was shocked that it was a direct to video release.

#11,

Nine Dead (http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0959329/combined)

thedeparted

Nine Dead was decently ok up to its horrific ending, its like the screenwriter was typing it out then someone else came along and was like woah dude budget, time constraints.. lets wrap this up and so he did. Another movie i watched that had trouble finding someone to distribute. This time less though as Frostbiter which took from 1988 to 1996 to find someone.

#12 incoming,

The Ward (http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt1369706/combined)

Pretty good film, although it still down the list for me on John Carpenter movies. Big Trouble in Little China, The Thing, Escape from New York , They Live, original Halloween, original assault on precinct 13 being above it atm.

#13,

The Video Dead (http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0155350/combined)

below average.

#14,

Stripperland (http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt1710900/combined)
Zombieland spoof b-movie, it wasnt half for what it was.

#15,

How to be a Serial Killer (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1038971/combined)

Trunks
10-27-2011, 06:56 PM
lol I've seen stripperland, Strippers and zombies are a good mix IMO. I
went through most of the zombie movies on netflix. There is actually one called Nazi zombies, it's foreign, horrible movie, but it's hard to go wrong with zombies.

Yeah i believe it was Dead Snow, I'm not a huge fan of B Movies yet, especially foreign ones lol. I watch it with a few friends and we made jokes about it most of the time, I guess we got some good laughs from it.

I've been watching a lot of physiologic and intellectual thrillers recently. If you like physiologic thrillers I recommend Exam, really good movie.

Movie was decent enough, lol though. 2 million budget and made 899 at the box office.

#16,

I liked Trick R' Treat, ending was kind of.... weird. I may re-watch that some time, has a decent plot, and it has some comedy in it as well.

#17 was

Zombie Girl the movie (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1278480/combined)

Neat documentary about a 12 year old girl making a feature length zombie movie

#18,

Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0365265/combined)

As i type this, it seems im watching a late entry into a series. should of looked it up before starting. oh well, will have to catch the others some times

It was below average, in the crit reviews they seemed to suggest the the other were much better, so i'll have to check them out

#19,

Carriers (http://akas.imdb.com/title/tt0806203/combined)

Was ok, didnt really take advantage of the whole virus plot it could have

#20,

Dying God (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1056467/combined)

It nearly entered my top 50 worst. but creature was neat look + death scene of it was pretty cool, so its just a bad movie with a cool ending. shame i had to waste an hour of my life for 3 min death scene

Trunks
10-31-2011, 06:34 PM
I never heard of any of those movies except Carriers, it's been a little while though. I thought Carriers was average, not much of a horror film, was really slow and no action in it.

CraeSC111

The cheesy horror films are usually better than the serious ones. They are so bad they're good :p

You should watch Ginger Snaps instead :P My friends and I used to go into the video store and rent the worst-looking horror films we could find and laugh at them while we watched... and Ginger Snaps actually ended up being pretty good. Definitely good for a werewolf movie :P
