View Full Version : Suggest me some games
Soooooo as soon as I graduated boot camp I was like ALRIGHT I'M NOT GOING TO SPEND ANY MONEY.
Next day I went to best buy and bought an ASUS.
8gigs of RAM.
Core i7
Nvidia GEFORCE GTX 560M 2GB
1tb HDD
Runs...every game I've tried on Ultra high. Looks great and no glitching at all.
And I bought Fallout 3 & NV
Fear 3
and Diablo II cause that's my game yo.
Suggest some other games to me. Some games that you think are good. Like YOUR PERSONAL favorite PC game.
I'm getting a collection for when I go out to sea and such. So...maybe some games that aren't ONLY good online.
Thank you.

Haha, you sound just like my friend. As soon as he graduated from basic he bought a 1,700 dollar alienware lap top. Soon after that he ended up buying 5 or 6 games for his PC and PS3.

I'm a big D2 fan myself, maybe we can meet in game sometime and do some runs.
As a PC gamer and someone who 'thinks' he has an idea of your taste in games, let me suggest a few.
Currently the month of November 2011 is going to be a big boom for video-games, especially for the PC which hasn't seen a good influx of games in so so long. If you feel like waiting, many awesome games will be coming out. BF3 is already out and I would recommend that as the only multiplayer shooter you'll ever need. Also coming in November is COD:MW3, Skyrim, which is going to consume most of my gaming life.
Currently the games I play over and over again are many you can find on Steam at great prices:
DOOM 3 - It's a great shooter that still looks great today. The PDA's you can pick up are very well done in voice-recording and the immersion you feel in this game is one of the best. I still love it and am still re-playing it today.
Company of Heroes / World In Conflict: Two games that are what I think the pinnacle of current RTS games. Although the community is down to it's die hard followers, it's very enjoyable in single player as well.
Fable 3: Although many people who are fans of the series says this is the worst of the three Fable games, I had a great time playing through it and it looks awesome on the PC.
Dues EX: Human Revolution: I got this game out of the blue and knew nothing about the previous games. It's very well done and has a great story. I very good FPS with RPG elements in it. I would recommend it not only because it's a lot of fun but because it's one of the few games running top-end graphics currently out.
BF3: I already mentioned this in my November rant above but as someone who played BF2, I am very pleased with the game. There really is no other like it. If you like shooters then pick this up, but keep in mind it is not a arcade shooter like COD. It's a military-realism sorta game but on PC it has 64 player maps, tanks, planes, jeeps, helicopters, and a vast assortment of unlocks and weapons all from today's modern battlefield. It'll keep you occupied for years to come. The game also only gets better with people you can connect to via-teamspeak and vent programs.
Team Fortress 2: It's now free to play which has the veterans in a ****-storm of complaining and it's now seeing some decent sized hacking but on a well-regulated server it's really fun to mess around in for a hour.
That's about everything that's been occupying me on the computer this year. Hope it helps mate.

Most of those are only really fun as multiplayer though, aren't they, Kink.
Foofle, I'm not really sure what your gaming tastes are... Maybe if you gave us a rundown of what genres you like to play? :)

Actually, I don't know what you read, but only three of the games I mentioned are actually more fun on multiplayer. All of the games on the list, as I have said, I've spent hours playing and enjoying on single player.
So my question is... did you even read my post? Or his first post?
He's currently playing Fear, Diablo, and Fallout. From those I was able to make a list pretty easily, didn't I? :]

I think you can get the bundle of the original for a pretty sweet price on Steam. I don't remember how many expansions are in it now but it would be worth replaying if you haven't already done so.

League of Legends obviously.
Fable 3, Bioshock, Battlefield 3 (there's a program now to get around Origin!), Skyrim when it's out, Assassin's Creed 1, 2, Brotherhood, Revelations, Orcs Must Die!, Portal 1/2, Team Fortress 2, Counter Strike Source, WoW if you're into that, and Starcraft 2 are all the good games I can think of off of my head. Gonna try and track down my D2 key, last I knew my brother had it wrote down...
Well, hope I was of some assistance! Are you getting deployed at all any time soon? Or are you stickin around for a while? :D

Medal of Honor, Battlefield 2,3 because they have a great story. Also play Modern Warfare 1 and 2 if you haven't played them yet. Because of story too :)

True. Sad but true. Community is horrible and mean. They can only blame people but as long as you play it with your friends and don't give a dang about them, it should be fine and funny to play :P

I've only played LoL a few times, because it was suggested to replace DotA.... and I was surprised that I *didn't* see anyone being mean in the games I played.... it was odd O_o

Like others said,
league of legends (free so there is now harm trying)
Team fortress 2 (also free and fun as hell)
You might want to try alien swarm, its free and is a coop game, you survive against swarms of aliens while doing a few missions.

Depends on your preferred genre, if it's action you want then any of the suggestions above will keep you going in a spin for a while.
Collection so far:
Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition
Fallout New Vegas
Oblivion Game of the Year Edition
Fear 3
Rage
I got Rage out of nowhere. Just randomly picked it up. I personally really love it.
MW3 and Skyrim are next on my list.

Might pick this up tomorrow.
Thank you everyone for the suggestions. I have no...real internet right now. I'm tethering on a capped 3g Phone connection so...can't really get League of Legends or TF2.
Every game suggested I will probably buy within a few weeks. So thank you. Lol.

Call of Duty games are too short and too expensive to buy them for the singleplayer, although they offer a great singleplayer experience, so you should consider the COD franchise.
Battlefield and Team Fortress 2 are great games, but they're ment to be played online and you're looking for singleplayer games.
You should really check out Wolfenstein 2009 - a great game; Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway (I don't suppose you'd be interested in Road to Hill 30); Singularity; Rage; GTA IV; Skyrim; Crysis (the original, Warhead and 2); Batman (both Arkham games) etc.
It all depends on your taste. What do you prefer: FPS, RPG, RTS?
And check out Wolfenstein 2009.
