Police in Lewiston are investigating a bizarre incident on the dance floor at a city bar in which a man's nose was nearly bitten off.
Police said Ryan Zinninger, 29, of Greene, was dancing at Pub 33 on Tuesday morning when another person bit his nose.
Police told the Sun Journal that Zinninger was taken to the hospital where a doctor sewed his nose into place with 12 stitches. He was released, but the doctor said he may still lose the tip of his nose.
Witnesses and bar staff said Zinninger and the suspect had some sort of altercation before the biting incident.
The suspect's name was not immediately released. Police said they are hoping to secure an arrest warrant on a charge of aggravated assault.
