New 360 Dashboard

So I literally switched on my Xbox at around 11:59 PM tonight to play some Fifa and found out that XBL was down decided to play some Skyrim instead. While playing it told me that there was an updated available. it took Xbox about 9 minutes which is awesome work imo.

So far what do you guys think about it???

I honestly love it, looks great and is more convenient in my opinion!!!

Same here! Gonna try and turn it on though here and see if it'll work..


Also, if you have a USB stick you can download the update off the Xbox website, pop it in your 360, and when you turn it on it'll install it.

I love what I've seen of it so far. It took two tries to download correctly, and I haven't seen what the Kinect menu looks like yet, but like I said, what I've seen is pretty cool.

Me exactly again, lol. It's looking pretty cool, wish it would connect to live for me though so that I could goof around with the apps, marketplace, etc.

Ok, it worked!

I like it! It looks really clean, extremely functional and the Bing integration is pretty nifty. I have Kinect but I wasn't in the mood to shout at my tv at 3am. I feared that it, too would go flying out the window... Too much Skyrim... lol

I've had no problems with it, and I agree with OP.
I think it's a much nicer layout and much more convenient.
Also the introduction of the Cloud to XBL is fantastic! Being able to continue your saved games if you go stop at a friends... just genious. Glad they've done it. The beacons I can see getting irritating, but i'm sure there'll be somewhere to turn it off =]

I read an article about microsft, the new upade is supposed to be completely compatible with the kinect microphone. That's including the bing search and they plan to eventually get most of the apps for xbox to run with voice commands as well. For example with nextflix, you'll be able to say a movie name and it will search for it like that. A lot of different cable companies are going to be compatible through xbox, I know time warner is going to be one of them. I only skimmed through the atricle so I don't have a lot of the details, but it will be interesting to see what happens.

Meh. I liked the old layout. Then again I mostly use my xbox for exclusives and watching media files off of my pc.

The ads are annoying too. I disabled them on mine. :D

I really really hate it. I updated yesterday and ... it looks so.... user-friendly. not that its a bad thing but... I really liked how it was before.

and I guess my friends family plan expired. its like a gold account, but its shared. like 3 or 4 members can be on one plan... anyone heard of it? but... I guess I gotta dash out 60 dollars a year now... its all good though... its all good.... //sarcasm

I don't know, I really don't take much notice of it.

I start my xbox and load the game that's about it.

One thing I don't like is that I keep getting notifications of people wanting to play certain games. The beacon thing.. Not a big fan of that, when I want to play with someone I will send them an invite :P
