What would you do? (gift related)

well since its almost Christmas, a week from today,
what would you do?

an example: I got a gift for another friend right? and it is SOMETHING that they already have! its already wrapped & under their tree! oh no. (true story actually. :D)

so that's the question. what would you do? (hope this topic keeps going until the actual day. we only have a week left.) 8)

Tell them you noticed the gift you bought them is something they already have, that they can either return it themselves and keep the cash, or let you take it back and get them something else.

Or what I do is get a gift receipt so that if they've got it already, they can exchange it (ex: a game or movie)

Dunno what you bought, but same concept applies.

Hate it when that happens! This is hard since it's under the tree already haha

It depends on what the gift is and if you can easily switch it.... if its something Id use, I would keep it and get them something else.

If its something someone else would like, Id just give it to them and get another gift for that other person. Or, if you have friends with similar interests, just switch the gifts.

Or, just exchange it with something completely different.

If you can't easily switch the gift, since it's already under the tree, Id just tell them ahead of time or after, what happened and give the the receipt.

I might follow what mizel said. cause what I got the lady didn't even give me a RECEIPT! not even a GIFT RECEIPT! so I took it... like I had to go stealth ninja style in her house and then sneaked out... oh man, I felt so bad for getting a gift back that is already nested under her tree.... [<---- dont even think about twisted thinking on this sentence. NOT INTENDED]

so what I did after that, I bought another gift for her, and then gave it to her again, she said somethin like, "what? another gift for me? you're so sweet." and smiled. I said... uhhh... yeah sure (with a fake smile... really I felt guilty for taking a gift that I already gave to her...) good thing it had the SAME wrapping paper!
