As the title says I need some help.

A few days ago I bought Dragon age 2 but I cant do anything with it. When I start the game a warning sign come up.

It stands
"switch from current encoding to specified encoding not supportedLine 1, Column 40 in inter XML settings"

and then it just shuts of.

I would be graceful if someone knew how to fix it. I have looked around on the internet but I havent found an answer. Thank you.

I'm assuming you're playing the pc version. Is this the direct retail version or are you playing off of something like Steam or something?

EDIT/UPDATE:

I did a bit of browsing on EA's technical support forum. Try creating a new windows user/make sure you have admin rights. Right-click on the executable for the game and try ''run as administrator''. New windows like vista and 7 can be a pain sometimes.

oh, I play on the pc and its the retail version.

Edit: I managed to start it, I installed it directly from setup(not autorun) and then choose to play as an administrator. I have no ide why it worked but it did.

thanks guys. :)

Sweet. Yea I hate it when you get a game and it doesn't work out of the box even though your specs are spot on. Most of the time that ''run as admin'' thing works because Vista and Windows 7 have that ''User Account Control'' which (even if you are an administrator) doesn't recognize that you are an administrator. /tech support
