Hello, I'm looking for gamers who have been thinking of starting RIFT but are looking for friends/partners to play with.

I left RIFT quite some time ago as my friends weren't playing it. I've made up my mind to start all over so I'm looking for people who would like to join me. If you were in a dilemma of whether to play it or not, it's time to decide now and join me :D

I have plans to create a guild etc and when I make up my mind to play it, I'll be quite dedicated(not 24/7 nor lifeless). If anyone's up for it, hit me with a PM!

PS: US Server :)

I own the game, but I haven't played it in about six months. Meh.

I had the beta for it, felt like WoW, already played WoW. They tried too hard to make it like WoW instead of making it its own game.

I'll probably pick rift up when I'm off deployment. So...if you still play. I'LL BE HERE.

Oh, I disagree with the WoW comment completely. It's no where near as kiddish and ... splashy, as that. The game plays more smoothly and the party system seems much more proficient and better.

Between the game play mechanics and the combat-character build system, it's nothing like WoW. The entire rift-battle concept is original, from all of the games I've played, save like some single-player RPGs.

I agree, Rift has a more real life look, the graphics aren't as toonish. This is just how I felt from the beta, they probably changed a lot around since then. I'm burn out on MMO's for now though.

Then why have you stopped for 6 months? :(

There's this thing ... it's called Basic Combat Training. Unfortunately, the Army doesn't allow any allotted time during training for such times as video gaming. :( And then I went to AIT, after that. And now I'm in Recovery School, soooOOooo ... it's been longer than 6 months, actually. Lol.

Ah I get it :P What about now? Recovery School doesn't give you any extra time? lol

I played it with my brother, it was pretty good but nothing was special enough about it to keep us there unfortunately :\

It doesn't really give me a ton of time, but I'm in the barracks. I don't have my desktop with me and this laptop can't support that game.

Sadly, I don't miss it. Lol. Borderlands and CounterStrike have kept my attention span longer than any other game except ... ...

No, I wont tell you that. Lol...

Downloading the trial right now, was going to start playing wow, but I decided to RIFT again, only played it for a little bit during the beta. If I get into it I may buy the full version. What server does anyone play on, I'll have me and my friends pick that one.

I wonder what all has changed in the game since I have played.

I'm lookin' into a new gaming PC here soon enough -- maybe I'll jump back into this. :D

I played it for an hour or so yesterday, was trying to figure everything out, pretty similar to WoW so it's nothing to big. It's nice not feeling completely lost, hate that part of starting a new game. Anyway, I was kind of bored playing yesterday, so I stopped around level 7 or so, but I started playing again today and for some reason it's way more fun. Closed like 20 rifts probably, did a zone event, finally doing some damage on my cleric, starting to get into this game. I'm close to being able to do dungeons, and going to wait a few more levels until I do PvP, but looks like I'm going to be hooked to this game. I recommend it to any WoW fans or even MMO fans.

What's your IGN on RIFT? Guardian/Defiant? And which shard are you on?

I'm on Byriel, because that's what friends started on, didn't have a choice in picking. We are all on Defiant, my IGN is Xenocide

So after playing it for a little while and giving it a try, I got bored of it really fast. Only hit about level 18 or so. It's just too plain, felt like I was playing a dull version of WoW. I'm not sure if it gets better at the end of the game, but I couldn't handle it, already canceled the subscription.

I wasn't really a big fan, either. I might have played if it was free-to-play, but it didn't seem worth a subscription to me.

I liked it more than WoW but couldn't afford it at the time. If it had come before WoW I'm sure it would've been the big RPG of the day
