'm finally getting a new gaming PC and could use a few recommendations. I'm going for a laptop rather than upgrading my desktop, because I need it for work as well so I have to be able to move it around - this is also one of the reasons I decided for a 14", a bigger one would just be a hassle. Basically I want it to run the newest games smoothly (skyrim, diablo 3 - soon hopefully, battlefield 3 and so on), and I want a killer graphics card. My budget for it is around $2500-3000 albeit I'm pretty determined not to compromise on quality. Please recommend me a configuration, as well as stores (online or actual stores located in the USA or that have worldwide shipping policy), so far I've been suggested Horize as selling gaming laptops but since it's a pretty serious investment I want to be sure and not take chances.

Really appreciate it!

My Asus can run skyrim on ultra high perfectly.

8 gigs of ram
corei7
nvidia gefore gtx 560m 2gb

I don't know how much it costs for civilians but I got this for around $800. And I'm very happy with it.

As for where to buy them, newegg is always a good seller.

With a 3k budget, hell, I'd build a gaming desktop for $1000-1500, which would beat any laptop, and then buy a decent $800 or so laptop for work and light gaming. And you'd still save a good chunk of cash.

If you really wanna go all out on a laptop, though, I'd recommend Sager; Customizable and pretty decently priced for what they offer:

thanks for the suggestions everyone. I checked out alienware, those are some smooth looking rigs.
So far I've decided to go for the Intel Core i7-960 3.2-3.4Ghz processor. Right now I'm debating which graphics card to get, since I'm kinda clueless when it comes to these things: so it's either nVidia Geforce GTX580M with 2GB Dedicated Graphics or AMD Radeon 6990m 2GB Dedicated Graphic, any advice?

thanks!

Alienware is nice but you'll end up paying a lot for the logo - same price for a computer off of Newegg with a different brand will likely have better specs, but I haven't done the research.

I'd hop out to Newegg and just try to land yourself with a decent dedicated graphics card, 3.0GHz+ dual core CPU, 4GB+ RAM, and a 15"+ display. If you're not as comfortable trying to figure it out by the parts on newegg, feel free to ask specific questions here or just settle for an alienware laptop that will cost you a little more but give you the comfort of knowing you're getting a computer with the specs you'll need.

Oh, and they look pretty sleek, don't they?
