Is WW3 Imnient?

World War 3 has often been the subject of many cheasy war novels and movies but is it possible that Earth may be plunged into a near global state of warfare again in the near future? With all the recent events going on (Kim Jong Il dead, Iran pushing for war) I think a major conflict is unavoidable.

Undoubtedly, whether it erupts in Korea or the Middle or elsewere, the USA and its close allies will certainly be involved.

Yeah, its a pretty depressing topic. At any moment right now, the Iranians or US could fire and basically pit all of Arabia against the US, Israel, and Europe.

(I don't Osama Bin Laden dying was that important, Al'Quada is probably pretty much gone and disbanded now)

In all the seriousness though I doubt the US or Iran would be that stupid, I don't think our government is that stupid not to see that this would lead to a war, to a world war, then to a nuclear war that would essentially destroy the 1st world.

ON THE OTHER HAND, Kim Jong Un (Il's son) is likely just as insane as his father and I could just imagine him saying "TO honor my father we will take back our homeland and unite Korea!"

But I like your post. On a serious note, I think that even the possibility of a world war breaking out is terrifying. It's hard to believe something so big on such a large scale could happen at the move of one little finger.

Iran is crazy and Israel is threatening it, and if Israel goes to war usa will probably support it. The question is if russia also goes to war in Irans side, they are much weaker than usa but Iran is important for them. And then we got China, I dont actually think they will join North Korea if they attack south because they arent really friendlies anymore(they are against NK getting nuclear bombs), and I doubt China wants to enter war over that little dump.

However China is the most growing nation and it needs fuel to sustain itself. When the resources go down they will need to look for it in other places, for example the arctic(with the help of russia) On the other side is usa witch also needs lot of oil and the arctic is now very important.

We've been having threats like this for the past 10 or 20 years. Even before that during the cold war. It's really nothing new. Everyone country knows that if anyone sets a nuclear bomb out, everyone else is going to as well. I don't even think kim jong il was dumb enough to use nuclear weapons. I really don't see a nuclear war even happening, no one wants to rule over a baron wasteland that is uninhabitable.

I'll be on deployment soon. Hopefully my ship won't get sent out if we go to war...seeing how we just took our guided missiles off. :(

As for Iran...I don't think it's going to be a world war. But a war with Iran? I can see something like that happening. Also a lot of our allies are favoring oil over helping us in a war if it ever comes to it. Spain is one of them...but I know there's more. A lot of countries won't help us. Lol.

I don't think WW3 is near, but we sure could use one for employment around the world :P . Also it's ridiculous to think China would war against us, If they war against us how will there economy survive us not buying up all their exports and Why would Russia want to get involved with us? This topic seems like silly doomsday scenario that has less than a billion chance to happen. We may go to war with Iran, but it won't be any different then the Iraq war. Where we are they main source of soldiers, tanks, planes, bombs and other countries send a few hundred to a few thousand token soldiers.

I dont think that the idea of WW3, or basically just the idea of another giant war in general is far off. I really dont think nuclear war will happen... at least in order to stay sane I've convinced myself that no one could possibly be that stupid. >_< But war has always been around, and history tends to repeats itself. So while I don’t think that every country is going to go nuke crazy… I do forsee some sort of large scale conflict happening in the not so distant future.

I find it amusing that we all have nukes and that’s what we threaten each other with…. the amusing part being that nukes = complete destruction. Period. Is humanity as a whole, that stuck up and full of pride that we’d rather destroy every living thing on this planet, then just suck it up and accept the fact that we are not all the same?
