I want to try playing games on notebooks (pc's) now. But the problem is I don't know what brand to get or not to get. So I was wondering if anyone can help me.

I wouldn't recommend gaming on laptops because you generally can't get the power you need and even when you do, the likeliness of it overheating is far greater.
If you're still set on laptops, then anything other than Dell is good.

It will also most likely cost you a couple of hundred $ extra to get a decent "gaming laptop", than it will be to buy a stationary with even more power

My gaming laptop was amazing.... loved it. Gateway FX series. Thing was 4 years old when the fan on the graphics card went caput.... had the fan not went out (probably my fault for not properly cooling it for the first couple years of having it), that thing woulda lasted a lot longer.
As for brand recommending.... the only gaming laptop I had was my Gateway (actually not my first choice) and it was amazing.

I had a netbook. Didn't try gaming on it. I wound up giving it to a friend and getting a laptop. I don't recommend netbooks for pretty much anything other than surfing the web, and even that is a bit sketchy. Definitely NOT for gaming.
I play WoW and Diablo II on a laptop, but all my other gaming is on console, until I can afford to build the gaming PC I want. With laptops coming out with onboard HD graphics and dual-core or better processors, they can handle gaming a lot better than they used to, but the overheating thing can be a real problem if you're gaming. Also, consider the games you're planning on playing. When AC:Revelations came out, there wasn't an off-the-shelf PC made that met its minimum recommended system, laptop or otherwise.
