Why is it taking so long for the good games to come out for either system? I was really excited that Little Big Planet was coming out in April for the Vita, but that has changed to a TBD status... Same thing for a couple of games that were supposed to be released launch titles on the 3ds... Anyways do you have either one of these systems? Are you pleased with it?
The only good thing the 3ds has going for it is the fact that you can play any ds game. The vita well you can download psp games for $. If you are rich I guess that is sweet...
Oh and I am back for the time being... Don't know when my next hiatus will be... I honestly forgot about this place until I was looking through my bookmarks.

Yep lack of games and high price are doing it in. But the thing is a little different, 3DS had known heavy hitters it was just waiting for them to come out. Vita really doesn't, so Sony better start throwing some cash around or they are on a path for disaster. This past week Vita went 10k in Japan for the first time, I assume it'll stay under. That is poor for Japan. In NA, it'll like down to 130k-150k for the month from its 200~ launch month which is also bad. So in essence. Lower the price and release the games and it'll sell better. I know that's pretty captain obvious. But if they dont do it soon it wont matter what they will it'll be stuck in obsolete land

You have to buy all the DS games anyways though too :P I never had a PSP before so the Vita isn't too terrible if I wanna buy older PSP games anyways.

Yeah this is pretty much what I was gonna say. When Nintendo dropped the 3DS price, there were a lot more people interested all of a sudden. Hard to say for certain how this one's gonna do. I really wanna play ModNation on it though xD

You can buy them used and cheap. Psp games can only be bought via psn and they don't have all made and they are about $20+ for anything good... The Vita is awesome (minus the game library and the fact that it hurts my hands). Oh well I hope to see better games and more consistently towards Christmas time.

Ooh, Monster Hunter Tri and 4 plus a new Fire Emblem may finally push me to get 3DS. Vita still doesn't offer enough to justify the price.

If you guys are looking at stats for how well these systems are doing in japan, remember the monster hunter series outsold COD in japan. Its one of the largest selling games totally the most substantial part of the PSPs sales.
the PSP nearly outsold all the other game consoles combined with 129,986 units sold, some of which were bundled with Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G
The monster hunter series has a a tremendous driving force in sales. Considering its bundle contributed to one of the best selling systems in history as well as being a hugely substantial part of that systems total sales.
PlayStation Portable
PlayStation Portable games that have sold or shipped at least one million copies.
Monster Hunter Portable 3rd (4.12 million in Japan)[172]
Gran Turismo (3.61 million)[128]
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (3.1 million;[68] 3.5 million shipped)[68]
Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (2,725,507 approximately: 2 million in US,[173] 125,507 in Japan,[174] 600,000 in UK)[46]
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (2.59 million approximately; 830,000 in Japan, 710,000 in North America,[175][176] 550,000 in Europe)[176]
Daxter (2.3 million)[177]
Monster Hunter Freedom 2 (2.3 million)[68]
Dissidia: Final Fantasy (1.81 million)[106]
Need for Speed Most Wanted 5-1-0 (1.32 million approximately: 1.1 million in US,[173] 200,000 in UK,[28] 27,151 in Japan)[174]
Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition (1.3 million approximately: 1.1 million in US,[173] 200,000 in UK)[28]
Monster Hunter Freedom (1.2 million)[68]
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories (1.13 million approximately; 950,000 in US,[173] 100,000 in UK,[25] 80,420 in Japan)[174]
Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee (1 million)[178]
Tekken: Dark Resurrection (1 million)[179]
Wipeout Pure (1 million)[180]
When one of the best selling systems sees over a third of the sales of the games capping 1 million coming from one series you know its the determining factor. As a long time fan of the series I can honestly say its something of a shock to see this game go by unpopular in america. Its on of the best series ever made, and as far as action games are concerned probably the best.
Why is vita not selling well in Japan? Because the next monster hunter ss going to be for the 3DS. Those stats are deeply affecting the Japanese sales, if you choose to use those as indicators. However, most people know Japans game market is on the decline and cant be used to predict success in the USA or EU.
If you do use your Vita to buy some pss games I recomend:
Monster Hunter portable 3rd
Final Fantasy tactics
Tactics Ogre

Well the 3DS had upcoming exclusive titles that were on no other console like Resident Evil Relevations (I think that was the title), Tekken 3D, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, StarFox 64 3D, Super Mario 3D Land, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Kid Icarus: Uprising and many more coming on the way like Luigi's Mansion 2 or Monster Hunter.
That's the problem the Vita has, no really good exclusive games and I highly doubt that 1k people buy a Vita just for an Uncharted Title. Seriously MGS HD Collection? Already on PS3 and XBox360, Street Figher X Tekken? Already on PS3 and XBox 360, Mortal Kombat already on PS3 and XBox 360.
Also the Vita is more expensive than PS360 and that is extreme for a handheld console. It is Sonys own fault that it turned out that way.
I hope that Sony will grab a Brain for a change and get some good exclusives on the way, if not I don't see any way that the Vita will get a good handheld. (Btw. the Buttons of the Vita are way too small that's senseless).

There is the start, select, and the power and volume buttons that are small. I guess if you have fat fingers any of the buttons would be a pain to use but personally I don't see a problem.
And unless they have something hidden up their sleeves they system is going to fail... As a system I think it is way better then the 3ds. But without the games it is just a fancy paper weight.

Just to defend myself: I haven't touched the Vita myself, heck I don't even have one. But one of my friends does have a big hand, a Vita and he told me that the buttons are way too small for him, that's why I mentioned it.
To the Part of Vita vs. 3DS:
I think they are both amazing, I mean I have never seen such good graphics on a handheld like the Vita before but the 3DS does have his 3D Effect.
But Vita lacks, in my opinion, of innovation and that's the point. I don't see any new innovations in the Vita and no games there gives me a reason to buy it.
And before I've been called a Fanboy: Like I said both handhelds are amazing in each way but I don't have a 3DS either. :)

Who said anything about being a fanboy? LOL...
I have both I prefer the vita's graphics
but the games on the 3ds are better so far (released). I also don't play with the 3d on most of the time because it hurts my eyes.
But no the vita is like the psp just with 2 touch screens and 2 analog sticks (yippy). And like you said the majority of the games are already on other systems. But it does make a pretty paper weight...

I don't think they're all awful for the 3ds. I bought Zelda for it, Resident Evil looking really good as well. Mario 3d land looks really good, thne their are always pokemon games which is the main reason I bought one. They're in the process of making Kirby for 3Ds too, one of my favorite series.

Yeah that's pretty much because of this reason:
I'm used to Fanboy Discussions because I'm in a few german forums. Usually, as soon as someone tries to point out good&bad things, the things get better or worse and usually it all starts with someone posting something that got misunderstood, that wanted to get misunderstood, troll comment or just by posting his own opinion. And that's pretty much the reason. ;)

Ok, can't argue with that (everybody has it's own tastes and experiences so... yep). :)
Well I'd prefer the Nintendo 3DS because of the AAA Titles and upcoming 3rd party developer titles but I won't buy the 3DS no matter what. I'm just not into handhelds, I need a TV and a console that stands at it's place. :D

Look I hate to come off as a broken record but I dont think we can disregard the statistics. The 3DS has the monster hunter series and thats going to sell one heck of a lot of systems (in japan a t least) and people are going to make their exclusives for the handheld with the best market share unless they get a decent payoff.
3DS is set up to do just as well as the PSP did in terms of driving titles as it stands, and Sony is relying on people being impressed with fancy (but expensive) gimmicks.

Vita has Uncharted and Wipeout as launch titles, I figured it would be doing decent. Much better than anything 3DS launched with.

While being quality titles, they aren't exactly system movers.

Although I hope it doesn’t happen, I do see the Vita suffering from the same fate as the 3DS.
