You can make a secret area portal much like the cow level or Uber bosses with these items:

•Black mushroom (Cathedral Level 1, Act 1)
•Shinbone (Leoric’s Manor, Act 1)
•Liquid Rainbow (Mysterious Cave in Mysterious Chest map, Act 2)
•Wirts Bell (One of the selling merchant in the city, Act 2)
•Gibbering Gemstone (Chiltara, Caverns of Frost, Act 3)
•Plans (Izual, Act 4)

So yeah, Im thinking thats legit. I plan to verify that later today. But here is the website I found that on:

In Act III (Nightmare Difficulty), I got the blacksmith plans for the Staff that you need to make with all of the above items. Just need another 3 items I think, then I'm good to go.

ok so I built this staff and upgraded it to the nightmare quality. Its actually as much fun as it looks but cost a bit. Altogether the 100k bell and the 50k crafting cost sets you back 150k, then the nightmare upgrade will run you another 200k. So I spent 350k on the staff as of today. There is also a hell mode upgrade but Im not sure I want to try that yet.

The items are strait forward and easy to find if you know where to look for them. And the nightmare upgrade is found at a vendor in the keep when you are in act IV, despite what most websites seem to be saying right now.

Pfffft, I wish I had that sort of Gold. My stuff won't sell, at all. I pick a lot up off the floor, as in Gold, and get Gold from quests, but nowhere near enough to save up. I'm always needing to buy stuff off the AH because I'm really unlucky with loot.

Cunning! I lost my patience with the AH, because I can never be bothered looking up the current price of particular items! It's not as easy as it used to be for me on WoW back in the day.

I do it on WoW too. Funny when people don't pay attention to their bid prices. Got 1k gold worth of stuff for 5 silver. Anyway since there's no auction addon for D3 I just write stuff down
