Hey everyone! Im new to these forums and, given the audience here, I figured this would be a good place to post ideas and ask for some input on a gamer bar that I plan on opening in the near future.

The idea so far is to open an arcade/bar. However, in stead of the traditional setup with normal coin operated arcade games, we will have consoles set up, xbox 360, PS3, Wii and some other older consoles. I plan on using custom arcade boxes that you can house a console in with controllers and basically use it as an arcade machine. Still going to be pay-to-play of course. Just haven't figured out a system yet. I also plan on having monthly tournaments with certain games. Prizes for the top gamers, of course.

Along with the console games, there will be an extensive menu of video game themed mixed drinks that I have been working on. These drinks will be stronger than a lot of the video game themed drinks you would find online. They will hopefully remind the drinkers of what they are named after.

So first question for all of you. Is this an idea that gamers like you folks would be interested? If there was a bar targeting gamers like this, would you go?

Another idea I have been looking for input on is catering to the tabletop and card gaming community. I love magic and D&D. I have a lot of friends who are into both as well. Im wondering if the 2 communities mix enough that it would be worth providing space for these other styles of gaming as well. Any thoughts on this?

All of the gamers that I know personally think that this is a fantastic idea. But those are my friends. They don't want to hurt my feelings...well, most of them don't. I am in need of some harsh, yet constructive criticism on this. Any input is helpful really. I would love for everyone to tell my what they think.

Thanks, everyone :)

I would love a bar like that where I live. The nearest I've go is a sports bar with 360s in some of the booths I is alway busy but it isn't a gamer it still has the theme of a sports bar. Other bars for the like of your card games usually have a shelve behind te bar where you can see the selection of board games that you just need to ask for and the. Give back once you leave. I have no idea how technical an stave machine can get but it might be a good idea that when ther time runs out the game pauses for 30 second maybe a minite since they might be drunk to put in the extra coins. The booth idea is good the setup was wired controllers with te Tvs on the wall which could switch from the game channel to ordinary channels. I think the best bi would be the drinks. I'd love to order a bloody sonic or something. Blue curuco peach snaps and grenadine. Also I'm not sure how this would go but the background music would be good if it was music from a host of games mixed in with chart music or whatever. Hope you update us loads on this soundstage exciting!

I will be having a sports bar aspect to it, but it will be minor. VIdeo games will be the star here. Though I would make sure that most sports are shown at the bar, the main events would be things like barcraft or having the tournaments at the bar viewable on other screens throughout the bar. I have also considered having systems at some of the tables and even a few at the bar for people who come to drink and game alone

They do have a lot of places where you can go and pay 15 dollars to play for 3 hours. The ones I've seen had 360's PS3's and Computers. All had multiple games and were able to play on. Never heard of any of them with a bar. Definitely sounds interesting, I'd like to have one in my area.

There are always gaming tournaments on Twitch.tv you can watch for free. Just another option you could use for things to display on the TV. Most of them have announcers and everything.
