Felix Baumgartner jumped from a balloon that was 24 miles above sea level, basically the edge of the atmosphere. It's estimated that he reached speeds of over 670 mph. For those that don't know, a regular sky dive is normally between 1 to 2 miles and they reach around 100 mph.

I've been following this story for awhile, they kept canceling his jump because of weather. I think it's kind of ironic that today is the anniversary of the first person to break the sound barrier in an airplane.

I actually had a bet going on this that the Guy wouldn't be able to do it. I don't think I could ever do any skydiving, much less from that high up

Missed it today because of Comic Con (I don't regret it).

Congrats to him and the team for finally getting this done! We had the video running at work every time he was supposed to jump, last time we actually had a dozen people show up to view it and then a big "aw" came about when they said the attempt was canceled.

Yeah they did, but I don't think it's up yet.

They should have had a live stream of it like they planned the last few times. I'm pretty sure they'll release it soon if they haven't already.

I found the video, wasn't as exciting as I thought it was going to be lol. Still pretty neat, the video says 723 mph.

Yea I saw this on Reddit Red bull keeps removing the YouTube videos though. :(
