View Full Version : Halo 3 drives 55% increase in Xbox 360 sales in Australia

For the week ending September 30 (six days after launch) Halo 3 has climbed into the 2nd best selling spot of all time for an Xbox 360 title, landing in over 70,000 Australian living rooms.

Software and accessories (including the special Halo 3 edition console) garnered Microsoft over AU$9 million in revenue.

Other points of note from the Halo 3 initial release week

* Xbox 360 hardware sales increased by 55 percent over the w/e 23 September

* Xbox 360 hardware sales for September increased by 158 percent over August

* Xbox 360 was the number one selling console for September

* Xbox 360 held 31 percent total market share for September, more than any other platform

* Xbox 360 hardware, software and accessories generated over $30m in September, over 50 percent more than any other platform

no doubt that this would be the best selling game... that is why the creator are splitting to invest their own..:laugh:

lol australia isnt a western civilization - its in th eastern hemisphere :D

and congrats to xbox with success because of halo lol

all games come out overrated but halo is meeting up to its expectations from the company for sales and the reviews are still good

I think the games that do come out overrated to come out fine. But there is some that are really bad. Crysis is amazing online but they messed up the single player play making it to easy :(. I was so looking forward to that for a year.

lol really i though the wii was beating the 360 in the UK. I guess its because the wii is ment to be having stock problems coming towards christmas.

All these people that have bought a wii are going to need a PS3 or an Xbox 360. Or they'll never get to play Assassins Creed, Oblivion, Area 51, Rainbow Six Vegas and so on....
