Boy Survives Moose Attack Thanks To World Of Warcraft | Game|Life | Wired.com (http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2007/12/boy-survives-mo/)

This was awhile ago, but first I'm i've seen it lol.

Hans Jørgen Olsen, a 12-year-old Norwegian boy, recently survived a moose attack by feigning death, "just like you learn at level 30 in World of Warcraft."

In WoW,
"feign death" is a skill acquired by hunters at level 30 that allows them to take a page from the possum playbook, collapse to the ground, and convince their enemies — who lose all ingrained animosity in the process — that they’ve died.

According to Norwegian site Nettavisen , Hans and his sister apparently enraged one of the local moose (mooses? meese?) during a walk in the forest near their home. After shouting at the gigantic creature to ward it away from his sister, Olsen dropped to the ground, and presumably his lifebar plummeted to zero.

Moose have never been known as the wisest creature in the forest, and the boy’s show of necrosis seems to have worked, as both he and his sister survived intact.

It’s easy to decry video games as a menace to society but in a world where MMOs save adorable, tow-headed Norwegian children from a deadly moose, can they really be that bad?

Funny that a kid could think that way, especially to taunt a moose at the age of twelve, most kids and probably adults would freeze up.

Unless they are scavengers and predators then an animals instinct is to leave a dead animal alone.

If he was Canadian he would be using that thing as a horse, not playing possum. :p. This kid is an idiot to piss off a moose, if you have never seen one (you would be supprised at the amount of people who have not even in pictures) They are huge.

I heard this some time ago,

They encountered an angry moose, it attacked them and the boy tried to scare it away however it failed. The moose pushed him onto the ground and thats when he started playing dead.

Moose/Elk are likely to toss it around even after this to make sure. They are not even close to the friendly animals people make them out to be. You get a bull moose charging at you, you're hooped man. Those things can get to be 6-8' tall at the shoulders, not counting the extra 1-3' of rise from their head, and again another 1-4' rise from their antlers.

Moose are scary man.

Lol See, video games add positive effects to kids lives... not negative ones ;D

The moose attacked directly, the boy tried to scare it away but it still ran towards them( in other words it wasnt the boy who made the moose attack him at first).

I think he haunted it off the girl, then used feigned death. But he's obviously cheating or something. Because you can't be a Warrior and Hunter at the same time, I say ban him.

Maybe he used distracting shot. Although I don't know many huntards that actually do that :p

He said he shouted though, which could only mean he taunted him. Hunters don't have a shout. He cheated, ban him.

This seems so strange... I just can't see this happening. Either the moose was really dumb, or the kid was really smart.
