Lovely speeds, I average 25Mb/s down and 5Mb/s up on wireless, haven't run a test recently on wired.

Pretty sure he's on DSL. He's moving in about a month and will have a better internet connection. His mind will be blown. I had to test mine multiple times because I didn't believe it.

Didn't move but redid my living room which caused me to have to use yet another ethernet extender to get to my desktop. I now have 4 ethernet cables daisy chained together. Apparently this is the secret to increasing download speed.

Here is my speed when I am on at night, with no one else on. I took the test at roughly 12:15 AM. When I am on at 5:00 PM I'm lucky to get 1 Mb, it averages at like .6

I know the feeling. I tested mine a work over the summer and was getting 1200-1400 mb/s download. The NICs were gig ports.... The math does not compute.

My old job was at around 50/50. I started a new job a few weeks ago, and they're at 100/100 and are looking to upgrade to gigabit ports.

That's why I ultimately decided to buy, honestly. The combination of being tired of paying for something I wasn't ever going to own and paying about the same in rent as I would for a mortgage. I was paying $765 for a 2 bedroom apartment (in a nice town), then $695 for a 3 bedroom duplex in a crap nasty town.... moved back to the nice town, bought a house and now I pay $1100 a month (mortgage and all yearly taxes) for a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house. It's the TAXES that are outrageous! $2,300 a year for property taxes. Without them, my mortgage would be just under $900 a month -__-

Makes me want to move down there but pretty sure finding a nice job would be difficult. And I'm used to being able to go out any time of day/night and get whatever I want. Some areas near me you can get a mortgage for 800-1300 /mo and property taxes as low as $450/mo. Can get that in a pretty decent area too. If I were planning to continue living where I am I'd probably look in to buying but in another 2-3 years there will likely be a relocation.

I was actually planning on going to central PA this past weekend (Cherry Springs State Park) to do some stargazing, but bad weather turned me away. Never been there, next time I may even check out the area around there to see if I can maybe find a good house to invest in.

Never been to that park myself but been in and around that area a good bit for hiking trips and camping. There are some really nice areas out that way. It's been a few years now though so I don't remember the places I was exactly.
