The Walt Disney Company and EA Announce Multi-Year Star Wars Games Agreement | EA Press Room (http://ea.newshq.businesswire.com/press-release/company-news/walt-disney-company-and-ea-announce-multi-year-star-wars-games-agreement)
“Every developer dreams of creating games for the Star Wars universe,” said EA Labels President Frank Gibeau. “Three of our top studios will fulfill that dream, crafting epic adventures for Star Wars fans. DICE and Visceral will produce new games, joining the BioWare team which continues to develop for the Star Wars franchise. The new experiences we create may borrow from films, but the games will be entirely original with all new stories and gameplay.”
I figured this would happen eventually, but I was curious as to who they would sell it off to. I'm just glad they sold it to someone. Would be really sad to see SW games come to an end....
My first thought was definitely.... Battlefront 3? :P

Yes, Battlefront 3 doenst seem to be to much of a longshot when it comes to dice.
Hopefully they do something unique and not just a battlefied in a star wars suit.

Agreed.
Although, Battlefront 3 is already pretty developed.... so HOPEFULLY they don't eff with it and screw it up :P

"Pre-order now for THREE extra missions no-one else has on the FIRST DAY! Also announcing Season Pass ($34.99 for 3 DLCs containing 5 map packs and a single player campaign mission!), online pass, and the all new weapons store! Buy upgraded weapons noone else has! Starting at $1.99/week, along with $5 double xp boosts!"
I really hope it doesn't come to that, but it's gonna be hard to say. Disney's already fond of microtransactions in their mobile games, and EA likes to screw everyone over. It might just happen because everyone is so stoked over it that they'll buy it anyways and put up with it.

Ha, thats just spot on. :D
But seriously dont you want the maps to be almost identical to eachover with only small differences, the story to be about a renegade soldier with nuclear weapons and so on.
:p

Wow. Don't think I could possibly agree with that image anymore. In any case I have a really bad sinking feeling that this won't turn out the way that they will try and make it sound, and the way we hope. I dare you to prove me wrong EA, I dare you! =)

They will probably make everything sound awesome and then ruins it by putting all interesting stuff in different DLC packs.

If they do hopefully they will release a platinum edition or something that comes with all dlc for like 5 extra bucks or something?... I don't have XBox live, because of my internet, so I can't even enjoy most dlc =(...

Nah, they'll jump on the season pass pricing. Atm the "standard" for a season pass is $30 for 4 DLCs that cost $10 separately. I can see them bumping it up a few dollars. though.. $40 for the 4 DLC's, but instead they cost $15 separately. Plus the stupid Online Pass they throw in most of their games. I only wish EA would focus on the game and not the money, but it's too far gone for that I guess.

Ditto. Unfortunately it will probably disappoint me like fable 3 did. I did something I thought I'd never do, because they kept advertising all the cool things you get if you pre order it, so I pre ordered for a whopping 80 something dollars, because I figured surely they would do it like they did with their platinum of Fable 2, where it has a butt load of amazing dlc on the disc, and then I open it to find out that the dlc only works if you go to xbox live and put in these codes. As I mentioned earlier I don't have xbox live so this was one of the biggest disappointments I've had in gaming. Pretty much I could have waited for the game to get older and save about 50 bucks. =( The game itself was pretty good, but this just made it so I won't pre order games for the dlc ever again lol.
