Hello Gamer-Forum!
Voyage Century is a game part of the MMORPG genre. Voyage Century takes place in the 1500s, during the "Age of Sail," on the planet Earth. In the game there are many things to accomplish. It is not character based: you can complete all skills with one character. In Voyage Century you can be a pirate or sink them. The game holds many hours worth of entertainment. And it is also free! (With Item Mall additions to further game-play.)
There is an event for Voyage Century where I am supposed to type some stuff about Christopher Columbus.
It requires you to submit it on another blog, forum, site etc., so I had to choose this one!

Christopher Columbus
Christopher Columbus was one of the greatest navigators of the 15th century. He was born in Genoa, Italy in the year 1451. Columbus is appreciated for bringing "the New World" to European knowledge.
Christopher Columbus believed the Earth was round, as most educated Europeans believed. However, according to ancient astronomy, Columbus thought that Asia would be a very short voyage if one sailed west of Europe. This was the great motivation for Christopher Columbus to sail west. It is also the reason why Caribbean islands have the name "West Indies."
Columbus had an urge to sail west to Asia. He was envious of the quick trade route to India and China, also avoiding taxes by Muslims in the Middle East. However, it was that a country would not want to fund his voyages. He first proposed his journey to King John II, king of Portugal, in 1485. Columbus was rejected.
Christopher Columbus tried proposing again to get funds for his voyage in 1488. Portugal was not interested in a western route, as they already had an ocean route south of Africa.
Columbus tried getting funds from various countries, including Italy, Spain and England. Italy would not provide much support. Columbus had been accepted to sail under Spain's flag. England later accepted him, but was too late.
When Columbus was on his voyage to the west, he had no idea it would take so long. His crew was starving. They were almost going to turn around and sail back to Spain. However, Columbus forced them to keep forward. Unlike Henry Hudson, Christopher Columbus was not abandoned by his crew.
On October 12, 1492 land was seen. The islands are now known as The Bahamas. Columbus later had many other voyages to the Caribbean.
On his fourth journey they encountered a storm like none other . The storm was hell and the mariners aboard his ship awaited death. Columbus survived but many of his crew had not.
Christopher Columbus was not the first to discover the Americas, but he did bring the knowledge to Europeans. You may say that it is his fault that Native Americans were killed for gold, but Columbus did accomplish a great feat, even if by mistake.
