Should anyone be surprised that Israel has an itchy trigger finger these days? There have only been near half a dozen invasions of Israel with the expressed purpose of "driving them into the sea".

Israel will not tolerate ANY or their neighbors acquiring nuclear weapons. It just won't happen.

2. The 1956 Suez war
3. The 1967 Six Day War
4. The 1973 Yom Kippur War
5. The 1982 Lebanon War as a result of an attempted assassination
6. The First Intifada, an armed uprising by Palestinians against Israeli military forces.
7. The recent 2006 incursion into Lebanon as a response to Hezbollah gorilla warfare.

Not to mention all the other cases of terrorism that have plagued Israel for decades.
