they are usually for the classics such as super nintendo, you won't find it at the store anymore unless it's one that keeps and sells older consoles - i know other new consoles are coming out with them and i guess people just want to save the money from buying the real thing lol - i havent touched emulators in years, not since i got this pc over 4 years ago

oh i read ur questions wrong lol, i thought u wanted to know why people still use emulators

an emulator is just a computer program - u use it in place of a console - like a game boy emulator will let you play GameBoy Roms (games for emulators) and you play it right on your computer. No need for the console. It is considered warez for all those new consoles since they want people to buy the games rather than use an emulator.

You use emulator to open the games in there - there are some out there now where you can play multiplayer games all over the place

does that give you more of an idea on what it's like?

if you want to play some of the classics - i used to play old pokemon games lol :D not any more though

i'd tell you where to get them but i cant post those links, forbidden here, they are still considered warez and illegal and since my server is located in America i can't do much to get around that lol

ask google if u dont know where to get them

snes9x is a good emulator too. Some emulators actually play certain games better than others.
