Yesterday's Downtime (1/24/08)

Yesterday (1/24/08 ) the forum was down for like 4 hours. I was not aware of this until the end because I was at class. This was due to the firewall. It usually shuts off and blocks anyone from connecting from a non-server account IF it feels it is getting breached through its security in any way.

I came home really late so I had no idea what was going on. This could have been another attack on this servers because for some reason, people believe we are vulnerable.

Sorry if anyone had any trouble - the server was just made a bit too secure.

it was down twice so it was like 7 hrs, there was a period of like 3 hrs in between the first 4 and the last 3 where the forum was here :-)

its an issue at the datacenter so I won't be doing anything at all, all i have to do is wait as they feed me with regular updates lol

heh..i have backups - this host is actually decent, 10x better than anything I've had from november to december lol - but i had to give them a warning to fix their firewall on the server, because if we keep getting downtime, im moving out to another company even if it costs me three times more

lol, thats why im in search for the "perfect" host - which will probably end up being a future server i build at home later - don't have the money for parts now :(
