My little brother, who is 11 years old and is in grade 6 has been sick for quite awhile. His biggest one was about a weak he didn't go to school.
And if I add all the sick days he had it'll probably be around 20 days or so..
Can they keep him for another year in school at grade 6?
Like, this being his first one, and once he finishes he will have to attend grade 6 again?
I'm a bit worried truthfully. I hope it's not another year as punishment.
(note: he is one of the smartest kids in class and brings back marks like B+, B, B-, A+, A, A- but he isn't that good in French. His marks range from D- - A+. So it's a bit unstable with him at French.
Anyway, can they keep him in another year at grade 6?
Thanks.

Hmmm, it depends on where you go sometimes. There's a person has missed every other day at my school for years now and they haven't been held back. They're not really all that smart either... You probably don't have to worry about it, but I can't be completely sure.

In my school district they automatically fail you after 28 days. I say thats stupid but hey we in America are forced to go to school so I guess that is way my district set it for 28.

if it was america they have this "no child left behind" thing going where they will make sure you pass somehow - in canada i am not sure - but if at the end he does really well, there isn't a reason to why he should repeat
