This is just a quick rant on the community of gamers today.

As most of you know, or may not, there is a game called GunZ: The Duel. It's an online game that is just like the Matrix combined with some Third-Person-Shooter. So, I created an account atleast a day ago, got to level 7 and I regained all my previous skills that I had from my old level 30 account 2 years back. Not as good, but it's not horrible. Onto my rant... I was playing the other day with some level 10's, 15's, and I was around level 4 at the time. And there was this kid that was hacking. And I was doing really well at the time. How this guy was hacking was that he was regenerating HP. So I yelled out "Hacker! Kick him!" Then this other idiot yelled out "No.. screw you. You are the hacker you **********************************!" (Just insert lots of bad words in the '*'.) Anyway, this guy started yelling how he'll fry my hard-drive, and in a bit, it got so bad that I left. Now, my point is that this isn't the only game that it happens in. Counter Strike, TF2, Half-Life, etc. I know my rant won't change a thing, but it's just good to let some stuff out once in a while.

Anybody else experience something like that?

i played gunz before to know what you are talking about lol - but is there like a system that tracks down players? I am not sure about this though, they have it in CS

and in games like TF, CS, and half life it is actually harder to hack and actually get away with it since VAC is doing a pretty good job keeping out hackers.

And usually little a$$es that hack in game have no real hacking skills - and he said he'll fry your hard drive? ROFL - what will he do? Come over to your house with a blowtorch ? haha

i hate kids like these though, they make it hard to have fun unless you have admin powers, then just keep on slaying them or something until they leave and THEN ban then lol

Haha, those 14 year olds make me laugh.

Just because they get away with doing ______ with a script once, they believe they have all the power in the world. XD

usually I just laugh, but sometimes I'm just not in the mood. )<

I played GunZ a year ago (maybe 6 months).

There was so many cheaters it drove me out of the game..

But here's what experience I also had.. Back in early 2000, there was a game developed by SEGA for the Dreamcast called Phantasy Star Online.

cmgsccc .com made codes as this game was also offline.. However, people brought many of the codes ONLINE and they worked.

A few months later a coder named Barubary arrived and then began coding like crazy on that game (he's an ASM reverse engineer).

But it became so mainstream in the game that everyone was doing it.. It was a community event even I was apart of it.

Then the focus shifted from the actual game itself to the community and who had the best codes instead of the best skills or best level etc..

But it was cool, cuz everyone was basicallyl apart of it and unless you knew how to do certiain things you'd never know.

But even to this DAY PSO was considered as one of those games that really touched many users lives due to this huge cheating event.. Many forums were made, many friends kept in touch and many of them sill reminise on the actual community we had, not the game.

Think about it, thousands of users all taking part in coding etc.. The game was a huge success even though no one really played it for the game itself cuz it would have become boring.

But the point im trying to make here is.. If the entire game is full of cheaters, it's probably how the game is played now.. And unless you change with it and have the necessary codes to block certain other codes you wouldn't have fun at all.

Best to either go with the flow in that game or change games all together.. What may be fun for some may not be fun for one..

But I can relate to games that are full of cheaters, I donno.. I guess it has it's allure of actualy changing the game and paticipating in something bigger than yourself?..

Not sure if anyone here can relate to what im talking about here.
