Ok guys, just as I said in a previous post, I got my new PC.
Now, the gfx card on it now, is great.
But I must have more!
( Oblivion, Halo 2, and stuff )
Or atleast know what more is, for the moment.
Now I'd have no problem doing this, but my tower,
Well,
It's abnormally small.
Very small.
Anyway, here are the specs, and I'll give the PC name too.

does it have an on board GPU or is it installed separately?

and most of that information is useless to get a gpu lol, does your pc have PCI slots? or PCI x16 slots or something like that? that info would be helpful lol

Uhm.
If I remember correctly,

Ok, I need to do some reaserch for you but, the first thing I noticed is your memory. If you have any plans on doing some more serious gaming... bump your ram to 2gigs... dont touch your GFX card until then. you will get a bigger performace boost out of your rig from increased ram than you will from a GFX card upgrade... and for 1/3 the price.

I know that.
But I need to know what KIND of gfx card to put into it.
My tower's incredibly small, so I can't think of anything.

what kind? a kind that fits and works for you lol, look at your pci slots and ge one to fit one of these, other than that you don't need any other "kind" of card

Just make sure you get a PCI-e gfx card, and i suggest you buy in person. Dont order on-line because you wont be able to get a feel for how big the card is via a web page. Go to your local best buy or something, look at what they have, and from there you can determine if the given card will fit your case. Speaking of which, open your case up, and take a look at the size of your current card... and BAM!! You'll know how big you can go ;)

that's a good tip but not all graphics card will be huge in size lol, i ordered mine online from newegg and it works fine - as long as your tower is wide enough for a CD drive you are good with all the regular sized GPUs

lol, just look at your computer specs or something, if you have a manual it should tell you what's on the motherboard - easier than us trying to guess which looks like what lol

can't tell anything - first and third are too blury to know what im looking at and the second one just shows me you have just one expansion slot left

but looking at the first image if i had o guess you have a PCI-E 2.0 x16 slot but i can't be sure

Dflat Major
03-30-2008, 10:20 PM
It says I have one PCI and one PCI-E

LiNuX
03-30-2008, 10:49 PM
then just get a graphics card that fits the pci-e only - and hopefully u get it from some place that allows a return if it doesn't fit lol

i think the regular PCI slot is filled - i don't see it available and it's smaller than the pci-e

Dflat Major
03-31-2008, 09:05 PM
Yeah it's filled by some network thing that came with it.
Its the little green/teal network slot at the bottom on teh pic of the back of the tower.

I have this other GFX PCI-E card I bought on ebay.
P*sses me off it's too big, but I'll keep it for a rainy day.

EDIT: Found a thread almost EXACTLY like this

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/246077-33-pavilion-slimline-s3120n-upgrading-graphics-card

PC is different, but the tower/size is the same, and we're both lookin at the PCI-E slot

But from the look of it.
I guess I'mma have to be getting a job soon.

:D

Well, I'm bad at english, but from what I read, theres a way to fix this by replacing it with a new tower ?

But from the looks of it, looks like I'mma have to be getting a job soon.
