Lately i've been bored, so I started working on a little project, a homebuilt home stereo system.

So far im only using my very old RCA RS1285 stereo, which currently has the 2 stock speakers, 2 smaller speakers, and one .3w speaker out of a old desktop hooked up to it.

The stereo only pushes 30w out, so I am probably already overloading it.

Next up I hope to get some tower speakers, and some subs also hooked up, as soon as I find some for cheap off ebay :)

Its pretty loud atm, but I want some more speakers, and subs to get the bass going and shake the house ;-)

The wiring is a mess of course atm, was just messing around. Once I get some more speakers I will get more wire and spread the speakers out to make it a surround sound basically and clean up the wiring a bunch to make it look half decent. A new stereo is going to come eventually so I can pump out more watts to the new speakers and subs :). Gonna work on getting a receiver also

Yeah I had to put it on top of my weight bench for the time being since I have little room in my room ::)

I only understand about 3/4 of what you were saying. It looks like that is going to be great when it's done! Post it when you finish it.

Thanks :). This is just basically practice for when I start wiring my system for my car when I get it back in a couple weeks :)

Plus I want a nice system inside as well ::)

Actually got another small speaker from a old tv, and my friend is giving me 3 more small speakers, and maybe a stereo speaker or 2

lol - u should get some headphones along with that and use them as mini-speakers :twitcy:

It's coming along nicely. Spread it around the room a bit, its all on one corner now so I can work out on my bench. The sub is right next to the bench, so im gonna be feeling vibrations while working out ::)

Hope to get some more speakers and make it fully surround sound in my room. Gonna also install some switches so I can switch off my sub and certain speakers if I ever want to :-P

The sub is 300w alone, and with my stereo only cranking out 30w, yeah, the sub aint getting near the power it could ::)

It's been a fun project so far. Im gonna work my way into maybe adding L.E.D's someday soon.

The small speakers will either get their own custom boxes, or they will be put inside the bigger speakers to be used as "tweeters".
