Updates & Upgrades for 4/12/08

Tomorrow afternoon around 2 pm - 5 PM the forum will go down into maintenance mode. It will only be down for about an hour (estimated) and it can happen between 2-5 PM (at any time).

What will happen during this downtime?

I will upgrade the forum to the latest stable vBulletin version which is 3.6.9 - I ran the upgrade on a test forum and so far it went smoothly. I just have a lot of template fixing to do which can be done with the forum up so it's not a problem.

You will also see the Gamers Forum Image Host come up. I have tested it on the test forum and so far it went smoothly. I just ran into a lot of errors because my computer isn't exactly what you call a "Server" and my current server is only set up for game servers, not websites :-)

I will also attempt to upgrade a few other modifications on the forum that are fairly outdated.

If I find that our major modifications such as the GFP, Arcade, Casino, and our up coming Image Host systems do not work, we will revert back to 3.6.8 which may cause a loss of 30 - 60 minutes of data. We will determine this tomorrow.

So remember - downtime between 2-5 PM tomorrow - can happen at any time.

I would like that image hoster. I wouldn't have to wait 50 min for photobucket to give me the IMG tags for my GIMP Signiture Tutorial.

@samus - the image code here is given pretty quickly, but only if you can upload the images properly from your computer, meaning a quick connection

hey are on release candidate 2 now - they said by May now so i don't know - they said it would come out in January a few months ago but that didn't happen, so I just gave up looking forward to it

and to everyone: The Image Host Mod will not work for most of you the first hour or so, I Have to test it out on the real thing before giving everyone access - a new thread explaining how it works will go up as well.

And Upgrade pushed from 2pm to 4 pm EST due to complications in my real life :) (shouldn't be smiling)

yeah upgrade is done, it was pretty quick - and i also upgraded the gfp system

just watch out for another thread - i just ran into major errors, don't know why but i haven't seen them in my computer when i tested yesterday so its frustrating
