Hey everyone i just switched my 360 on and it made like "pfffft" noise on the power supply. Its not comming on so iam thinking its busted. Will this affect the 360 internaly? And how much are replacment power supplies and where can i buy one?

I think it may be an internal problem. You could take it to a games store and ask them to check it for you.

i am sure you can return it to microsoft for a replacement

that sound could have been your psu just dying - the fan probably made that noise (if there is one, not familiar with 360 hardware)

if one of your friends has a x360 then ask them if you could borrow there power supply to see if thats the problem, if not then send it to microsoft

I agree with Scott.
Take it to a game store to see if they will check for you.
Then you could send it to microsoft from there.

if it's the three red lights then bring it then call microsoft. i had to do it because of that same problem. they gave me a brand new one and a one month gold membership aww yeah.

I think I have heard a noise like that on my 360. It came from the disk drive though and nearly completely destroyed my copy of C&C3. The disk is badly scrached but the game is playable.

that happened to my Mass Effect, but I just took it to the video store and paid 50 cents to get it repaired.

To check if it's a problem with the 360 ONLY! You have to remove the hard-drive and run the box. If you still hear it it's the 360. If not, it's the hard-drive. Other then that take it to a store.
