I was thinking of buying the 5.8x3.7 in. Black Bamboo Tablet, are it is here: http://www.wacom.com/bambootablet/bamboo.cfm
I was thinking of buying it because my brother said it would be easier to work in photoshop with it. Another option of getting it would be getting it used of eBay, Message Boards for cheaper. Opinions about buying it anyone?

....................

you know i've been trying to win an auction for a tablet on ebay for the past 3 weeks lol and that bamboo one looks good and i've actually bid on a few before it went to like $50 and i gave up -

and ebay doesn't sell everything used - i'm only bidding on new or refurbished items - not a fan of used items from eBay - but if you don't care about the price up then you can buy it from the wacom site or if you cant wait for auctions to end

most people use it for graphics and thats what i intended to do over the summer - i want to increase my graphics skills and i plan on completing a few templates of my own and with a tablet and holding a pen like a pen would seem easier to do stuff than with a mouse which can get messy :D

and you can also sign electronically with this

I have a small little tablet for digital drawing and sometimes graphics.

They're handy but a problem a lot of people has, is they wrap their cord around the tablet when they don't use it. This kills the wire after a year. Just a heads up if you get one (:

I've actually heard a lot of good things about the Bamboo [fun]. If my tablet stops working suddenly (its old but still works quite well lol) I would go for the bamboo. Cheaper than wacom and intuos, but still very usable.

I don't know if I'd go for a used one. They're pretty cheap for tablets so it might just be worth it to buy it new and get the warranty with it or something.

Ah, see, if I get one, I will probably use it instead of my mouse.

heh dunno about that. When searching the web, it's defiantly easier to use a mouse.

But still, with packing and traveling and otherrandomactions, people wrap the cords around D: I did once or twice and then found out that lots of people get trouble from that so I stopped XD

mouse is easier to use for many things especially for gaming but tablets people use mostly for graphics work, better to use pencils and stuff in photoshop and other graphics programs than using your mouse - because i can't write my name properly with a mouse and the pen tool lol

Tablet = graphics work. Mouse = everything else.

If I thought I could draw so much as a straightline... i'd buy a tablet but I can't...

A lot of people have the misconception that if you get a tablet graphics/drawing will be better or easier.
That's not true.

It does take time to learn to work with a tablet.
I just don't want you buying a tablet and then thinking your graphics are going to be amazing now, lol.

I have a tablet myself.
It's held up for about three years now, I love it.

I also suggest using the mouse for everything else.
It's not as easy to control and you think, lol.

thats true so thats why my backup plan is to give it to my sis - she is a great artist lol - and the only thing i'll actually use this for other than the pen tool in PS is for signatures since my scanner doesn't work anymore and i don't feel like getting a new one
