Just a question thats on my mind everynow and again :P

I have a ATI Radeon X1300 512MB Video CARD with 2Gbs of RAM and a 3GHz CPU
I have most of my games of fairly low setting, if not the bare minimum, and I find that most of the time I only get at most a 40 FPS rate.

Just wondering, do you PC gamers, what specs have you got for your PC and what kind of framerate do you get for most of your games? and how did you go about getting that? :D

Cheers,
- Mark

i have geforce 8600gt XXX - its only 256 mb video memory and i have 4 gigs of ram - your card should be fine now - i get around 60-100 fps for games like Counter Strike 1.6 and CS: Source

I could answer you a lot easier if you told me what type of games you're trying to play. Newer games are going to be stuck at low settings and low frame rates if your using the X1300. I have the X1800 and i still find myself dropping settings to medium - medium-high. Something that can help is to drop your resolution. If you're playing at your absolute max resolution, (mine is 1600x1080) drop it down a notch or two (mine dropped to 1280x800). You SHOULD see an increase in FPS. The downside is you will lose (barely noticable) detail, but since you're already at low settings it shouldnt be too bad.

My suggestion - if you're serious about big time PC gaming, upgrade your GPU. You can upgrade to the X1800 XT for maybe $200 and you will see a nice upgrade in your performance. If you really want your games to shine, go with the HD series. They are all DX10 cards. The thing you need to worry about is having a big enough power supply, and a 2nd PCI-e slot as they are all double thick cards.
