Do you prefer to write in cursive or print? Why? Which are you better at? I think print is so much better. I can write it faster and you can actually read it... unlike my cursive. :-P

I prefer cursive, because i write faster like that.
Although, sometimes I'll just randomly switch between print and cursive while writing.

I did that once before when I was really in a hurry to take notes. :-P

Print, you can't read my cursive. I think cursive is dumb, for my honest opinion. I have trouble reading almost everyones cursive writing. I can write neater and faster with print, because I have to think about writing in cursive

I write print when I can, but in school I have to write in cursive.

I prefer print.
I write in all capitals, so it looks neat :]

I can't write in cursive to save my life, lol.

I totally agree. Cursive is kind of unnecessary. Why make things more complicated like that? Print is easy to write and read, and look cleaner than cursive. Cursive almost looks like squiggles. Print FTW.

Printing is sooooo much faster :) ( at least for me) when I was taught cursive i thought oh cool this should be faster but what ends up happening is you forget how to write the cursive letters so really for me its not faster at all

I honestly dont even know if I rememeber how to write in cursive. The ONLY time i use cursive is when I am signing my name on legal documents and such for the army.

i always right in cursive unless told to write differently. but my style of cursive is kinda cool i guess. i was told i right in olde english style. or wtf. i dunno. basically look at the declaration at independence and look at that style. that's a little like mine.

I had to write in cursive in elementary school, but after that it pretty much left my memory; if you asked me to write in cursive today, it would be hard for me.

What about taking notes in class? No typing there, right? Unless they let you use that laptop during class.

I can hardly read cursive, let alone right it. I know most of the lower case letters, but i have to stop and think about it on some. I only know the "H" and "G" for capital letters. That is for when I have to sign things. So as you can already tell, I like print a lot better.

my first semester i used laptop in 4/5 classes - the 5th class was calculus so not fun trying to type in fractions there lol

and my second term i didn't take a lot of notes - just for my economics and law classes and only about a dozen pages or so in the entire term lol

lol, try to look at some of the advance calculus problems and see if you can type it up

and anyway, i do math much better with a pen and paper than a keyboard

My 6th grade teacher in Geography made us write in cursive all the time. When we had to work she told me should couldn't read my handwriting at all. I honestly think cursive shouldn't exist.

Well, we all can thank John Hancock for that; if he didn't sign the DOI the way he did, we would still be writing with feathers!

I know what you're talking about, lol.
You'd never be able to type it up without a special program or something.

I'm getting a laptop at the end of the summer.
SO EXCITED :]
I'm gonna use it for the rest of my classes in HS and then into college.

I actually have to think if i'm writing in print. Cursive is just so much faster for me. My cursive is pretty awesome (or so i've been told) when i'm not in a hurry - but if i have to write extremely fast it ends up as one giant signature.

cursive was something made up to waste my time lol. Only reason schools taught us that is so you know how to sign your name on a contract, agreement; etc.

old thread is old. I guess I'll finally reply. I always use print now. cursive is only used for signing my name these days and only because that's required.
