what is better. LCD or Plasma?

what do you think is better and why do you think it is better

all that i do know is LCD is more expensive it the screen is more plastic and plasma is less expensive with a glass screen. i read soem things and it says LCD is better but i want to know what you think.

I'm not sure visual quality wise, but I remember hearing something about plasma screens leaking after a few years.

I think I prefer my handy dandy LCD.

Plasmas have a quick burn-in speed. LCD's in my opinion are just better.

I honestly thought plasma was more expensive.

anyways I heard that plasma is better for movies but LCD is better for games. But plasma you gotta watch out, if you leave the same image on the screen for too long, it'll burn into your tv.

LCD is better in quality, MUCH better - the TV i had in my room a year ago before it burned out was Plasma - i have an LCD now and its a 100x clearer

and LCD is more expensive - its good if you want more "realistic" feeling because i think it uses more pixels or better pixels, not sure about this fact though

i was just making sure because i know my 19 LCD comp monitor has been workingfor uhh... god.. about five years? absolutley no problems at all! only think that's wrong is one button is pushed in too far. but i was thinking on if i should get a 42 inch plasma or aa 42 inch LCD. my dad thinks plasma's better but he doesn't believe me when i say LCD is better so i wanted to do some research.

LCD is much better - i have a 40 inch LCD - its awesome compared to the old plasma

yeah they do, my 40" LCD weighs about 35 pounds while my old 32" Plasma weighed nearly the same and was fatter

also cause plasma's get really hot! and i think quality is much better on an LCD.

Its LCD. Plasma is ok but less pixels. Plus like everyone is stating higher price for LCD which means better most of the time.

One guy jumped out of his apartment window from like 7 story's up because he thought there was pool there...or he could fly or something...i dont know..

More pixels = better quality.

Knowing that and what everone else had said, I'd for sure go for LCD over plasma.

Plasma sounds cooler though.

I got a LCD in my room not that big I think only a 20" but its alot better than plasma my aunt has a Plasma and let me tell u u can't sit as close to it as u can a cpu cuz it just goes dark different story with LCD if u sit too close to an LCD the color of the picture changes to a sort of inverse pink affect not that bad as Plasma i choose LCD over Plasma anyday
