The Midnight Club Racing Game Series is one of my favorites to play right beside Need for Speed which is a classic and Gran Turismo. And since I only have extensive experience with Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition for the PSP, the review is for that.

Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition was released in June of 2005 for the PSP. People are always ranting about NFS being a much better racing game but unlike NFS, Midnight Club 3 has no boundaries to where you can go. Many other racing games keep their racing courses compact to the ways you can turn and the short cuts you can take. Here, anything and everything goes in the city.

The Game gives you a very deep and extensive Career mode where you can go from city to city and practice races and even enter tournaments making it even more exciting. Use the won money to upgrade your car or even buy a new one to use for future races. Also use the money to customize the looks and performance of all of your cars. And unlike most other racing games, here you can use Motorcycles which are unlockable within the career mode.

The PSP Also makes it easy for you to play with your friends online without a router of any kind. The easy connection lets you show off your rides and prove who is best. One of my favorite features of the game.

Another thing the Midnight Club 3 has like many other racing games these days is Nitrous which gives you a super boost in speed. And it is more realistic than in games like Need for Speed because it contains containers of the Nitrous. And unlike many other racers, the cars here take damage and can burn out. One of the best games for these effects is Burn Out and even though Midnight Club 3 comes no where close to being that great, it does the job of making it feel realistic.

The graphics fit into the little UMD inside that PSP is just incredible considering this is 3 year old technology. The graphics is definitely one of the best reasons why I play the game and actually customize the cars because I like to look at the car rather than try to win the race like many other games.

Ratings:

Game Play: 6/10 – Although it has a good story mode, compared to other games, especially more recent ones, this is nothing.

Graphics: 8/10 for its time and 7/10 compared to psp games today.

Customizations: 8/10 - Very easy and even fun to customize your cars in both looks and performance.

Overall: 7.3/10

This game is great for any racing game lovers. And this was a game that really helped me pass time when I worked at the library. So as a time passer this game definitely gets a 10/10 because it helped me out through some boring times.

hated this game for PS2. Though 2 was good although I only got 2/3 done then broke the game in a fit of anger. Really didn't like 1 because I got it several years later for free and they really made the games better after 1...Looking forward to MC:LA this fall.

I loved 2 and 3. They were both tough but fun. And 3 is still one of my favourite 5 racing games of all time.

Haven't played any of them; I've always been bad at racing games.

I've played nearly all the racing games on the Xbox 360 and most of the ones on PS2 too. I play racing games a lot.

Oh and did anyone play the MC3 Dub Edition remix?. I would like to know what's different in it.

I thought about buying it but didn't want to pay full price for a "Remixed" version of the game.
