I am searching for RPG games with a good dialog.
Or in other words:
Where you can open a conversation with other npc and choose your sentences.
This effects the scenes, path you follow, outcome, ...
When you finished such a game you can choose to play it all over again but with different behaviour.
The best one ive played is Star Wars: Knights of the old republic 1 and 2 aka KOTOR.
Another good example is Mass Effect.
But in Mass Effect the behaviour doesn't effect the gameplay as much as in KOTOR.
Personally i love this type of gameplay, and i bet there are many more of these.
So i got 2 questions:
How are these type of games called?
Do you know other games of this type worth buying?

Rush On Seven Episodes - also known as ROSE - it has those with the npc right from the start - also has a huge quest thing where different things happen each time and you can do the quest like 3 or 4 times with different parts
but this is 2+ year old talk, i haven't played the game since Open Beta went away and I lost all my character and money lol - it costs about $15 a month or so

uhm...well
Jade Empire is basically Kotor but not star wars, or so i've heard.
Most other RPG's are linear, with different endings

Facade.
i've played it, and it's all about the interactive dialog.
If graphics aren't important, i'd recommend this.

I think Oblivion almost got this effect.
The way you talk to people effects their mood towards you, and sometimes it affects the quest you are doing.
Nothing effects the main quest, that I know of.
You can get Oblivion for 30-40$ anymore. Great graphics, good gameplay, and is ok in the dialouge thing.
do you mean rpg that u play offline or the mmorpg that u play online? because i think WoW has that, not sure though

Here's an idea. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 is a turn-based RPG thats like mixed with a dating sim type thing, you have to talk to friends and build relationships with everyone, and you also have to participate in school-related things (including classes and tests)

I am looking for singleplayer games, WoW has a PVE part where you can do solo quests that effect standings & such, but that is not what i look for.
What i want is beeing able to have a conversation with NPC and select my own sentences when it's my turn to talk.
Standings might change, their mood gets affected by what you say/do and so on.
Imagine there is a nice story going on and you are in the middle of it, your behaviour then affects the story and maybe the playstyle. In a way you give the game a personal touch.

i've played it, and it's all about the interactive dialog.

Graphic quality is a bonus but not that important as the story, dialog and gameplay in my opinion.
So i will check it out :) .

Sounds nice, doesn't have to be Star Wars like, i will check it out.
Thank you for those who replied. I do take note of the games suggested and i will take a look.

I for one have never played a game like that. I didn't even know such a thing exists. Unless oblivion was it, but I don't think it changes the game play really. For the quest you just have to make people like you. That's intended to finish the quest. So it doesn't really change the game play.

With change of gameplay i meant like, if you choose to be an evil kind of character you blast your way through things most of the time.
But if you more the talk kind of player you can use words rather then force.
I admit gameplay isn't really the word, it's more like, playstyle.
Ill edit it in my previous post.
