The Great Escape vs Stalag 17?

Which of these great WW2 German POW Films is best?. I prefer The Great Escape though I like them both.

The Great Escape is complete win for being a old movie that even if I watched Stalag 17..I seriously doubt it could top The Great Escape.

I just googled it and it was made in 1953, and is a black and white and I despise black and white film, so ya even if I seen it on TV i would never watch through it to see if it's good or not.
