hi guys i brought halo 2 the other week and i installed it and everything and i was playing it for the first night then when i went to play it the next day it came up with this " Files are missing or damaged in the installation directory"
so i uninstalled it and put the CD back in it then came up with the same message so i rang technical support and they said take it back to the shop so i did and they said that they have had alot of trouble with some of the CD's so they gave me antoher one and said that that one had been tested and was working correctly so i took it home put it in my computer and what do you know it comes up with the same message so do any of you know whats wrong?

Thanks guys ;-)

Try, going into your program files and deleting the files manually.

or install it in a new directory and see if it works there

Well, by deleting the old directory, it would be a new directory = )

i have steam installed on this pc in 3 different directories, well 2 right now but i was having problems a few months ago and i didn't feel like uninstalling and deleting the files just yet

and this is a good way to check if the files in the current directory are the problems or if its the whole computer or even the game

and if it works in the new directory, you can delete the old one with no regrets.

Doesnt it give you the option on where to install it when you install it? Most games do

your computer may not be accepting the installation files, not sure - or your cd could be bad - try it on a separate computer if you can and see if it works fine there
