I watched a review that Eric Striffler did. He said that Heath Ledger was great in it. As anyone will probably tell you, so you probably don't have to worry.

Yes indeed he pulled off the Role perfectly, His first Scene was brilliant. and my Guess is it will surpass the Estimate. it was sold out 3 days before it came out here where I live.

weekend estimates are in 155,340,000, spider man 3 had $151.1 million. through estimates Spider Man 3 sold 21.96 million tickets...while TDk sold 21.94....reason why TDK is #1 is because average ticket price jumped from 6.88 to 7.08. Also first day were said to be 67.85 million.

TDK, while it DID outsell SM3 in pure numbers, actual ticket sales were JUST shy of taking the record. The difference was due to average ticket price changes from '07 to '08. If ticket prices were the same, SM3 would still be the top grossing movie in history for its opening weekend. Reguardless however, TDK will still be known as the best selling movie of all time in the record books until something truely impressive tried to dethrone it.

and you have the nerve to attack Iceskater for posting basically what you say...you just did it to me. Read post #18.

Edit weekend actual for TDK was $158,411,483

Edit 2.....Monday sales= $24,493,313

so tomorrow it's likely to reach 200 million.

Edit 3...figured I'd post this The Dark Knight has the best 4 day total as well, 182,904,796..Spider Man 3 had 161,401,784.

To be the best 5 day total it doesn't even need to sell today, to be the best 6 day total it needs 1.1 in 2 days, best 7 day total 14 in 3

Edit 4: Tuesday numbers $20,868,722

2nd best Tuesday ever behind only Transformers $27,851,016

TDK up to 203,773,518 which puts it at 84th all time USA BO history after 5 days.

i think because of heath ledger's unfortunate death many more people want to see this movie cos it was his last. and i think they should cos it looks awsome and it would be a kinda tribute to him

a 1 hell of a tribute would to break Titantic 11 yr reign as #1 movie(not counting inflation), but I dunno if that's possible...I'm starting to think more and more that a top 5 may be a lock though.

When I saw that it went up to 153 mil, I was like "holy s***." I had high expectations for this movie, but not this high.

And speaking of Heath Ledgers passing, it could have been prevented. Sad that the guy had to die.

what was the titanic's sales?

jakncoke
07-24-2008, 12:08 PM
what was the titanic's sales?

$600,788,188
$883,019,700(when inflation is accounted for)

$1,842.9 for worldwide with inflation being used

3 amazing things to learn.

Titantic was #1 in the box office for 17 straight weeks(bad numbers even got it #1 a lot)

Titantic was in the box office from Dec of 97 till Aug 98

The Dark Knight is the fast to 200 by 3 days.

POTC: Dead Mans Chest took 16 days to reach 300 million, so TDK has 11 days to get 97 million, very reachable....this movie is doing amazing.

fastest ever to 400 is Skrek 2 with 43 days
------------------------------------------------------
Edit: $18,377,288, up to $222,150,806

#2 6 day total POTC: Dead Mans Chest did $183,661,469

The Dark Knight is up to 64th all time.

$16,464,405 for Thursday giving $238,615,211 over 7 days. 42 million over the previous record for a 7 day total. Up to 55th all time.
--------------------

weekend estimates are in, 75,630,000 estimate. if that estimate is accurate that would be the best 2nd weekend ever by 3 million or. If the estimates stand, that puts it 56 million above the best 10 days total, the fastest to 300 million... 6 days ahead of POTC:Dead Mans Chest and it'd be the 23rd all time movie.
