desktops are generally more stable and you can pack a lot more power in it for a lower price than a laptop - good for games, music, graphics work, school work, etc..

then definitly a computer
laptops suck for PC games.
my laptop is really really really slow.
and I barely have 10 PC games on it.
get a computer!

what's processor speed for that?

and also games these days ask for a lot of processor power and processors tend to heat up faster - the CPUs in laptop cases have poor heatsinks with even worse fans so it can overload if you play too long. Desktops are still cheaper and you can get more power with them and not worry about overheating it - I keep my computer on 24/7 and it runs perfectly and i play games - do graphic work - school work - programming - web surfing - and more all at the same time.

of course i custom built this pc to handle it all so if you can get a custom pc - you can get one with a lot of power because computer parts sold separately cost less than when it has been pre-assembled.

Get a desktop. I've looked around and you wont get a great gaming laptop for that ammount of money.
