A new guide, from your ultimate poet, is here, for us.

Get in the Creative Box
Stare at anyone's poetry for a while. You'll start getting Ideas, trust me.

Make your Poem a Story
Do it! Making a story is good practice! IT helps you write longer and better poems.

Find your Genre
I do low creepy life threatening poetry.
A few others are...
()Romantic (I try it once in awhile)
()Imaginary (Me do that? Dream on.)
()Travel (Done it once or twice...)

Find Your Style
Mines simple. Heres an example

Title
P
O
E
T
R
Y
P
O
E
T
R
Y

I make every two lines rhyme

You've got a Creative Bone!
Find it and use it. Practice makes perfect. Since I really became a poet in December 2007, I've written atleast 30. Your first ones you might not wa

NEVER use smiles in your poem. http://www.gamers-forum.com/images/smilies/wacky/no.gif

A dictionary
I don't really mean use a dictionary, but put together a little book or file of words that rhyme. heres an example.

You; do; to; shoe; goo; moo; cue;

They are more rhymes than that in that ending, but thats an example.

Rhyme.
Ah my favorite. but it can be complicated. There are many ways to rhyme.

You can use, 3 popular ways.

Mine is making a verse, then make another having the last word rhyme with the last one in the verse before that one.

Another is the same as mine but with four verses.

Another way is to write two verses then write another verse rhyming with the first then one rhyming with the second.

Ready, Set, WRITE!

Comments and Poetry appriciated.

Good guide, but I'd put some more info in it.
You're being very general; why don't you go into the different styles of poetry?
Expand on what you have :]
