wow lol...yeah i'd do the same - well since its a printer too i'd take the ink cartridge or toner out and then light it up lol...

they are inside the glass part - and in between the thing that scans everything - you can't really squish them unless you use a lot of pressure and actually be able to break the glass...

Doesn't a little bar go across under the glass. I'm pretty sure their is otherwise how does a scanner work?

ink absorbs light and the white paper reflects it back to the little bar thing. so it kind of makes an outline of it in its little computer and then converts it into data to upload to your pc...simple process but a lot of work to get that up lol

and scanners are different, i dont know how his works but i used to have one where the little bar was below a thick glass - glass probably had space in between, not sure - i am assuming his is like that.
