You were worried when Leonardo Dicaprio went away, weren't you? Well, fret not. Brad Pitt is signed, sealed and delivered as Lt. Aldo Raine, the badass hillbilly "from the mountains of Tennessee" who leads his Nazi-killin' "Basterds" into enemy territory to... do some really nasty **** to some incredibly deserving bad guys. Pitt joins Eli Roth, who was announced the other day as Sgt. Donnie Donowitz aka "The Bear Jew", and B.J. Novak, who is in talks to play Private Utivich.

Now that Pitt's on board, it's all about Col. Landa (aka "The Jew Hunter") and Shosanna (a teenaged Jewish girl who works at a Paris cinema). Tarantino is allegedly after a German actor for the former, while I don't believe he's stated a preference for the latter. Any ideas? Shosanna's a tough-as-nails survivor, so... Olivia Thirlby? I'm at a loss on that one.

Tarantino is still on about finishing this in time for the 2009 Cannes Film Festival, so here's hoping his October 13th start date doesn't get pushed back.

this movie is going to rock.

sounds decent - Quentin Tarantino has a pretty good reputation with hundreds of movies under his belt in directing, acting, producing etc. hope this one is good as well

Anything with Quentin Tarantino's hand on it is bound to be awesome. Pulp fiction is probably my favorite all time movie.
