Is anyone going to be effected by it? Already up to 145 winds and still hasn't entered the Gulf of Mexico, I'm interested in how much is weakens before entering the GOM as it has to pass over the west of Cuba and how much more strength it can gain. Down to 945 mbars.

no it's a category 4 currently, category 3 is from 111-130 mph

as of 2pm est, the winds were 145..as seen in the OP.

But poor New Orleans.. all over again.
Hopefully it weakens up.

doubt it'll reach NYC - we haven't seen a hurricane in like 10 years or so, well even then it was just the edge of it, never felt the full force

but yeah...sux for new orleans and the other coastal places :( hope FEMA is ready this time
