Orinda has requested that Sony stop producing and selling Blu-ray products, the most important of them being the Playstation 3. They are looking for a royalty fee from Sony for all previous sales of Blu-ray enabled products.
That can't be good with sony already losing so much money with the ps3.

this isn't news, if you read the article many have tried and many have failed already. The only thing this company has going for it is this court is the same one that made ninty pay 21 million over the motion sensing lawsuit. At Rukisuto, they're just trying to get a quick pay day.

This time, Californian-based firm Orinda Intellectual Properties has applied to the courts claiming that Sony has violated patent number 5,438,560, which relates to “an optical disk-shaped recording medium comprising a plurality of tracks,” filed in 1995 by Hyundai Electronics Industries.
