Heard about this in the news so I thought it might be interesting to share :-) I'm a little worried about the matter though:no:

it won't happen, blackholes appear when a massive star collapses in on itself which is kagillion tons of matter getting squeezed which raises the mass big time...these guys will be dealing with far less matter for anything to happen

but anyway, if im wrong...we'll never know..

they say there's something like .000000000001 chance of it happening so I'm not even remotely caring about it, what I interested is what they find, they say within the first year they'll collect 15 tb of data

Wow, But like LiNuX said, about the starts and such, how do you make that happen on Earth?

If it does happen, well, It wouldn't be soon. I can think that much, maybe hope that much?

Well, apparently everything was ok.

Yeah basically nothing happened, like all the scientists said.

I'm excited to see what they find <:

its just a particle accelerator lol...there were other particle accelerators in the past, those were just smaller with far less power...they didn't create anything and this won't either...ever lol

had a discussion about this with a friend earlier during my break from class lol..he believes black hole will kill us...I dont. Not enough mass to produce a backhole can be found in this solar system - our sun isn't even big enough to go supernova when its about to die let alone create a black hole, and humans definitely don't have the power to do that, not yet at least

My friend read a bit more about this, aparently their doing something more dangerous with a black hole, early next year!

and where did your friend read this? you can't work with blackholes...these are high mass objects in very small spaces, if ur friend read it off the internet from a source unknown to many, they probably said it to get readers.

I'm not sure, he was researching it, he never told me, i'll find out if you want?

I wouldn't be too worried about it. lol

They pretty much speed some protons to about the speed of light and then smash the ***** out of them. All because they want to make a big bang for some dark matter particles n stuff like that.

oh and btw you guys....

PREPARE FOR UNFORESEEN CONSUQUENCES.

I doubt there will be a black hole. There is as much chance of a black hole as the is the credit card crunch ending tomorrow.
