What better way for MTV to promote its Rock Band 2 game than with an actual TV reality show featuring Rock Band gamers battling it out?

With the much anticipated Rock Band 2 about to hit retail (for Xbox 360), a new Craigslist ad (found by Variety) has revealed that MTV is looking for people to compete in Rock Band as part of a new reality TV show from Mark Burnett, who created Survivor, The Apprentice and other hit shows.

The listing in the TV/film/video gigs category says "MTV's official Rock Band 2 show!!!" and calls for "four people to form their own band and show us their stuff live on stage for the chance to win the Ultimate Rock Band Experience."

Participants have to be 18 years old or above and live near southern California. No music or Rock Band experience is required, MTV said. We've pinged MTV for official word beyond the listing, but have not heard back yet.

MTV sucks so bad, I'm so sick of them. I wish I had an option to block their channel.

The reason I can't is because other ppl in my household actually like MTV still, should rename themselves to RTV
