Gears of War FPS

IGN posted a nice news story on how Gears of War will need to expand the franchise past its current third-person story/gametype. They suggested making Gears an FPS and had some decent backup.

I personally would love a GOW FPS. I've been thinking how good it would be since the first GOW.

It would be pretty cool, maybe introduce a whole new character and maybe a different location to what Marcus and the rest of the Gears are in if you know what I mean.

I'd prefer if there was no gears of war at all, and if the made a FPS of it, it'd be better than regular gears of war (I abhor that games camera and controls) but it'd probably be JUST like resistance

I like Gears of War but I think a first person shooter would not be as great.
Just sounds like more money grabbing but idk.

I'm sure that in the end it would be fun.

I say no, It being a TPS is what makes the game so good. Almost every shooter now days is in first person. It's not often you can find a good TPS.

I love FPS and if GoW was a FPS i'd love it!! At the moment, it's not my favourite game, because you see the character and not your actual gun, which sucks.

Although i love FPSs, i have to go with Trunks and Jacob on this one. Its not everyday that you find such a sensational Third Person game. Just think of Halo, half Life, Bioshock, CoD, Medal of Honor, Condemned, F.E.A.R. There are too many already-good games. I think some games should be left in their own category, for good, like Gears
So, personally, No i wouldn't like one.

Should have been a FPS in the first place. That game was way overrated.

I do like FPS, but gears in my opinion would be too weird in FPS, I think it's perfect how it is and it might not be that fun in first person, because if you think about it you need the third person like blind firing, and sneaking around to avoid hard enemies.
